1 Alif lam mim. Those are the signs of the book and of a clear quran. 2 Perhaps those who have disbelieved have desired they had been Muslims. 3 Leave them to eat and enjoy, and hope regale them and they will know. 4 And we have destroyed no village but it had a known book. 5 No nation precedes its term nor do they delay. 6 And they have said: The one whom the dhikr has been sent down upon, you are jinni-possessed. 7 Why do you not bring us the angels if you are of the truthful? 8 We do not send down the angels except with the truth, and they would not then be respited. 9 We have sent down the Dhikr and we are keepers for it. 10 And we sent before you among the factions of the first ones. 11 And no messenger comes to them but they used to mock him. 12 Thus we insert it into the hearts of the criminals. 13 They do not believe in it and the sunnah of the first ones has passed away. 14 And had we opened upon them a gate from the sky and they remained therein ascending, 15 They would have said: Our eyesight has only been dazzled. Rather, we are a bewitched people. 16 And we put in the sky constellations and adorned it for the observers. 17 And we have guarded it from every rajim devil 18 Except him who has peeked at hearing. Then an obvious meteor has followed him. 19 And the Earth, we spread it and threw therein stabilisers and we caused to grow therein of every balanced thing. 20 And we made for you therein a livelihood and him whom you are not providers for. 21 And there is nothing but with us are its treasuries. And we do not send it down except in a known quantity. 22 And we have sent the winds as fertilisers and we have sent down water from the sky and we have given you it to drink. And you are not storers for it. 23 And we vivify and cause to die and we are the inheritors. 24 And we have known the preceding among you and we have known the succeeding. 25 Your lord, he gathers them. He is wise, learned. 26 And he created man from argil, from altered mud. 27 And the jann, we created it before from the fire of the Samum. 28 And when your lord said to the angels: I am creating a human being from argil, from altered mud. 29 So when I have smoothed him and blown into him from my spirit fall down to him doing sujud. 30 So the angels did sujud all of them together, 31 Except Iblis. He refused to be with those doing sujud. 32 He said: Iblis, what is wrong with you that you are not with those doing sujud? 33 He said: I would not do sujud to a human being you created from argil, from altered mud. 34 He said: Then get out of it for you are rajim. 35 And upon you is the curse to the day of judgment. 36 He said: Lord, then give me respite to a day they are raised. 37 He said: Then you are of those given respite. 38 To the day of the known time. 39 He said: Lord, because you have seduced me I will adorn for them on the Earth and seduce them all 40 Except your sincere slaves among them. 41 He said: This is a path upon me, straight. 42 My slaves, you have no authority over them except him who has followed you of the seducers. 43 And Jahannam is their appointment all. 44 Every gate among them has an allocated part. 45 The fearers are in jannat and springs. 46 Enter them in peace, safe. 47 And we have deprived of what is in the chests of rancour, brothers facing one another on beds. 48 Exhaustion does not touch them therein and they are not removed from them. 49 Inform my slaves that I, I am the forgiver, the merciful 50 And that my torture, it is the painful torture. 51 And inform them about Ibrahim’s guest, 52 When they entered upon him and said: Peace. He said: We are fearful of you. 53 They said: Do not be fearful. We give you good news of a learned boy. 54 He said: Do you give me good news although old age has touched me? Then of what do you give good news? 55 They said: We have given you good news in truth so do not be of the despondent. 56 He said: And who despairs of his lord’s mercy except the strayers? 57 He said: So what is your problem, commissaries? 58 They said: We have been sent to a criminal people 59 Except Lut’s family. We are saving them all 60 Except his woman. We have determined that she be of the preceding. 61 And when the commissaries came to Lut’s family. 62 He said: You are a munkar people. 63 They said: Rather, we have brought you what they were disputing about. 64 And we have come to you in truth and we are truthful. 65 So travel at night with your family in divisions of the night and follow their backsides and let none among you turn round after and pass where you are commanded. 66 And we prescribed to him that matter that the origin of these would be cut off in the morning. 67 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 68 He said: These are my guest so do not expose me 69 And fear Allah and do not disgrace me. 70 They said: Did we not forbid you from the ‘alamin? 71 He said: These are my daughters if you are doers. 72 Your life, they are wandering in their intoxication! 73 So the cry took them at sunrise. 74 And we made its high its low and we rained upon them stones of argil. 75 In that there are signs for the markers. 76 And it is on a permanent way. 77 In that there is a sign for the believers. 78 And the companions of the copse were wrongdoers. 79 So we took vengeance on them and they were in a clear guideline. 80 And the companions of the Hijr accused the commissaries of lying. 81 And we gave them our signs but they were turning away from them. 82 And they used to carve houses from the mountains, secure. 83 But the cry took them in the morning. 84 And what they used to earn did not avail them. 85 And we did not create the skies and the Earth and what is between them except in truth. And the Hour is coming so overlook beautifully. 86 Your lord, he is the inventor, the learned. 87 And we have given you seven of the mathani and the great Quran. 88 Do not extend your eyes to what we have amused with in pairs of them and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing to the believers. 89 And say: I, I am the obvious nadhir. 90 As we have sent down upon the dividers, 91 Those who have made the Quran parts. 92 So by your lord we will ask them all 93 About what they used to do. 94 So crack with what you are commanded and turn away from the mushrikun. 95 We were sufficient against the mockers. 96 Those who make another god with Allah. But they will know. 97 And maybe we know that you, your chest constricts by what they say. 98 So praise with the praise of your lord and be of those who do sujud. 99 And worship your lord until the certainty comes to you.
