1 Prophet, fear Allah and do not obey the kafirun and the hypocrites. Allah was learned, wise. 2 And obey what you are inspired with from your lord. Allah was an expert in what you do. 3 And put your trust in Allah. And Allah was sufficient as an agent. 4 Allah has not made for a man two hearts in his abdomen nor has he made your husbands whom you pronounce zihar upon your mothers. Nor has he made your adopted sons your sons. That is your speech with your mouths but Allah tells the truth. And he guides to the way. 5 Call them by their fathers; it is more equitable with Allah. But if you have not known their fathers--then your brothers in the religion and your mawali. But there is no transgression in what you have sinned. But what your hearts intended. And Allah was a forgiver, merciful. 6 The prophet is closer to the believers than themselves and his husbands are their mothers. And the possessors of wombs are closer to one another in Allah’s book than the believers and the emigrants except that you do your protectors a kindness. That was mastur in the book. 7 And when we took from the prophets their covenant and from you and from Nuh and Ibrahim and Musa and Isa son of Maryam and we took from them a thick covenant 8 To ask the truthful about their truth. And he has prepared for the kafirun painful torture. 9 Those who have believed, remember Allah’s grace upon you when troops came to you and we sent upon them a wind and troops. You did not see them. And Allah was a seer of what you do. 10 When they came to you from above you and from below you and when eyesight deviated and reached the hearts, the throats and you make assumptions about Allah. 11 There the believers were tried and shaken severely. 12 And when the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is disease say: Allah and his messenger have not promised us but delusion. 13 And when a band of them said: People of Yathrib, there is no residence for you so return. And a party of them seeks permission of the prophet saying: Our houses are ‘awrah and they are not ‘awrah. They want nothing but flight. 14 And had it been entered upon them from its quarters then they would have been asked for fitnah, they would have given it and would not have hesitated concerning it except a little. 15 And they had covenanted with Allah before that they would not turn backsides. And Allah’s covenant was questioned. 16 Say: Fleeing will not benefit you if you have fled from death or killing and then you are not amused except a little. 17 Say: Who is that which protects you from Allah if he has wanted evil for you or has wanted mercy for you? And they do not find for them instead of Allah a protector or a helper. 18 Allah knows the obstructors among you and those who say to their brothers: Come to us. And they do not come to the horribleness except a few. 19 Miserly towards you. But when the fear came you saw them looking at you, their eyes rolling like the one who faints from death. But when the fear had gone they pierced you with sharp tongues. Miserly towards the good. Those, they have not believed so Allah has made their deeds worthless. And that was easy for Allah. 20 They think the parties have not gone. And if the parties should come they would wish that they were living in the desert among the Bedouin asking about your news. And if they were among you they would not fight except a little. 21 You had in Allah’s messenger a good exemplar for him who was hoping for Allah and the last day and has remembered Allah much. 22 And when the believers saw the parties they said: This is what Allah and his messenger promised us and Allah and his messenger have told the truth. And it did not increase them but in faith and submission. 23 Among the believers are men who have confirmed what they have covenanted with Allah. And among them is he who has fulfilled his vow and among them is he who awaits. And they do not change a change. 24 That Allah may recompense the truthful for their truth and torture the hypocrites if he wills or repent for them. Allah was a forgiver, merciful. 25 And Allah repelled those who had disbelieved in their rage, they did not obtain good. And Allah spared the believers fighting and Allah was strong, mighty. 26 And he sent down those who had aided them of the People of the Book from their strongholds and threw terror into their hearts. A party you kill and a party you capture. 27 And he caused you to inherit their land and their homes and their monies and a land you had not trodden. And Allah was mighty over everything. 28 Prophet, say to your husbands: If you are wanting the dunya life and its adornment, then come, I shall amuse you and release you with a beautiful release. 29 And if you are wanting Allah and his messenger and the hereafter home then Allah has prepared for the good-doers among you a great wage. 30 Women of the prophet’s, the one among you who commits obvious fahishah, the torture is doubled double for her. And that was easy for Allah. 31 And the one among you who is devout towards Lah and his messenger and does a righteous deed, we give her her wage twice and we have prepared for her a generous provision. 32 Women of the prophet’s, you are not like one of the women. If you have feared then do not be submissive in speech so that the one in whose heart is disease desires, and say decent speech. 33 And stay in your houses and do not dress up as the dressing up of the first jahiliyyah. And perform salat and give the zakat and obey Allah and his messenger. Allah only wants to remove rijs from you, household, and to purify you with purification. 34 And remember what is read in your houses of Allah’s verses and wisdom. Allah was nice, an expert. 35 The Muslims and the Muslimahs and the male believers and the female believers and the obedient men and the obedient women and the truthful men and the truthful women and the patient men and the patient women and the humble men and the humble women and the mutasadiqun and the mutasadiqat and the fasting men and the fasting women and the male keepers of their privates and the female keepers and the men who remember Allah much and the women who remember has Allah prepared for them forgiveness and a great wage. 36 And it was not for a believing man or a believing woman when Allah and his messenger had decided on a matter that they should have a choice in their matter. And he who disobeys Allah and his messenger has clearly strayed. 37 And when you say to the one whom Allah has graced and you have graced: Keep your husband to yourself and fear Allah. And you conceal in yourself what Allah is going to disclose. And you fear the people and Allah has more right that you fear him. So when Zaid had executed the necessary thing from her we married her to you so that there would be no difficulty upon the believers concerning the husbands of their adopted sons when they have executed the necessary thing from them. And Allah’s command was done. 38 There was no difficulty upon the prophet in what Allah had made obligatory for him. Allah’s sunnah concerning those who had passed away before. And Allah’s command was predestined predestination. 39 Those who send Allah’s messages and fear him and do not fear anyone but Allah. And Allah was sufficient as a noble. 40 Muhammad was not a father of any of your men but Allah’s messenger and the ring of the prophets. And Allah was learned in everything. 41 Those who have believed, remember Allah much. 42 And glorify him early in the morning and in the late afternoon. 43 He is the one who prays for you and his angels to bring you out of the darknesses into the light and he was merciful to the believers. 44 Their greeting on the day they meet him is Peace. And he has prepared for them a generous wage. 45 Prophet, we have sent you as a witness and as a bearer of good news and as a nadhir 46 And as a caller to Allah with his permission and as a bright lamp. 47 And give good news to the believers that theirs is a big favour from Allah. 48 And do not obey the kafirun and the hypocrites and repulse their harm and put your trust in Allah. And Allah was sufficient as an agent. 49 Those who have believed, when you futter the believers then divorce them before you touch them, you have no ‘iddah upon them to count for them. So enjoy them and give them a beautiful discharge. 50 Prophet, we have made lawful for you your husbands whom you have given their wages to and what your right hand possesses from what Allah has given you as booty and the daughters of your paternal uncles and the daughters of your paternal aunts and the daughters of your maternal uncles and the daughters of your maternal aunts who emigrated with you and a believing woman who has given herself to the prophet if the prophet wants to futter her--exclusively for you, excluding the believers. We knew what we made obligatory upon them concerning their husbands and what their right hands have possessed, that there should be no difficulty upon you. And Allah was a forgiver, merciful. 51 You defer whom you will of them and put up to you whom you will. And whom you have sought of those you have set aside, there is no misdemeanour upon you. That is more suitable that their eyes cool and they not grieve and they be pleased with what you have given them, all of them. And Allah knows what is in your hearts. And Allah was learned, clement. 52 Women are not lawful to you after nor to exchange them for husbands even if their comeliness has appealed to you, except what your right hand has possessed. And Allah was a watchman over everything. 53 Those who have believed, do not enter the prophet’s houses except when permission is given you for food, without waiting for its preparation. But when you are invited, enter, and when you have tasted, disperse and do not seek to remain for hadith. That was harming the prophet and he is shy of you. And Allah is not shy of the truth. And when you ask them for gain, ask them from behind a screen. That is purer for your hearts and their hearts. And it was not for you to harm Allah’s messenger nor to futter his husbands after him ever. That was a horrible thing with Allah. 54 Whether you reveal a thing or conceal it, Allah was learned in everything. 55 There is no misdemeanour upon them concerning their fathers or their sons or their brothers or their brothers’ sons or their sisters’ sons or their women or what their right hands have possessed. And fear Allah. Allah was a witness over everything. 56 Allah and his angels pray for the prophet. Those who have believed, pray for him and salute him. 57 Those who harm Allah and his messenger, Allah has cursed them in the dunya and the hereafter and he has prepared for them base torture. 58 And those who harm the believing men and the believing women for other than what they have earned, they have borne defamation and obvious sin. 59 Prophet, tell your husbands and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their jalabib over them. That is more appropriate that they should be known and not harmed. And Allah was a forgiver, merciful. 60 If the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is disease and the agitators in Al-Madinah do not cease, we will cause you to lure them then they shall not be your neighbours therein except a little. 61 Cursed wherever they have been met with, taken and massacred. 62 Allah’s sunnah concerning those who passed away before. And you will not find a change to Allah’s sunnah. 63 People ask you about the Hour. Say: The knowledge of it is only with Allah. And what will make you know? Perhaps the Hour is near. 64 Allah has cursed the kafirun and has prepared for them a blaze, 65 Abiding therein forever; they do not find a protector or a helper. 66 On a day their faces are turned in the fire they say: Would that we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the messenger! 67 And they said: Our lord, we obeyed our chiefs and our great men but they misled us from the way. 68 Our lord, give them two doubles of the torture and curse them greatly! 69 Those who have believed, do not be like those who harmed Musa and Allah cleared from what they said. And he was a dignitary with Allah. 70 Those who have believed, fear Allah and speak correct speech. 71 He corrects your deeds for you and forgives you your sins. And he who obeys Allah and his messenger has won a great win. 72 We offered the trust to the skies and the Earth but they refused to bear it and feared it; but man bore it. He was unjust, ignorant. 73 That Allah may torture the male hypocrites and the female hypocrites and the mushrikun and the mushrikat and that Allah may repent for the male believers and the female believers. And Allah was a forgiver, merciful.
