1 By the saffat in rank 2 And the drivers driving 3 And those who read dhikr. 4 Your god is one, 5 The lord of the skies and the Earth and what is between them and the lord of the rising places. 6 We have adorned the lowest sky with the adornment of the planets 7 And as a guard against every rebellious devil. 8 They do not listen to the high council and are shot from every side, 9 Driven away and theirs is enduring torture 10 Except him who has made off with the snatch and a piercing meteor has followed him. 11 So enquire of them: Are they stronger in creation or him we have created? We created them from sticky clay. 12 Rather, you wondered while they mock. 13 And when they were reminded they do not remember. 14 And when they saw a sign they mock. 15 And they have said: This is nothing but obvious magic. 16 When we have died and were dirt and bones are we raised, 17 Our first fathers? 18 Say: Yes and you are abased. 19 Then it is only one zajrah then behold, they see. 20 And they said: Woe is us! This is the day of judgment. 21 This is the day of decision which you used to call a lie. 22 Gather those who have wronged and their pairs and what they used to worship 23 Instead of Allah then guide them to the path of jahim. 24 And stop them. They are asked. 25 What is wrong with you? You do not help one another. 26 Rather, they today seek to surrender. 27 And they advanced towards one another asking one another. 28 They said: You, you used to come to us from the right. 29 They said: Rather, you were not believers. 30 And we had no authority over you. Rather, you were oppressive people. 31 So our lord’s speech has been confirmed against us. We are tasting. 32 So we seduced you. We were seduced. 33 Then they on that day are participants in the torture. 34 We, thus do we do with the criminals. 35 They were when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah, arrogant. 36 And they say: Are we to leave our gods for a jinni-possessed poet? 37 Rather, he has brought the truth and confirmed the commissaries. 38 You are going to taste the painful torture. 39 And you are not recompensed except for what you used to do. 40 Except Allah’s sincere slaves. 41 Those, theirs is a known provision. 42 Fruits and they are honoured 43 In the jannat of bliss, 44 On beds facing one another. 45 A goblet from a fountain is circulated among them, 46 White, delicious to the drinkers. 47 There is no alcohol in it nor do they haemorrhage from it. 48 And with them are the Minors of the Gaze, 'in, 49 As though they were hidden eggs. 50 Then they advanced towards one another asking one another. 51 A speaker among them said: I had a qarin. 52 He says: Are you of the believing? 53 When we have died and were dirt and bones, are we going to be judged? 54 He said: Would you be looking? 55 Then he looked and saw him in the midst of the jahim. 56 He said: By Allah, you had almost ruined me. 57 And had it not been for my lord’s grace I would have been of those sent for. 58 Then are we not going to die 59 Except our first death and we are not going to be tortured? 60 This is the great win. 61 For the like of this let the workers work. 62 Is that better as a lodging or the zaqqum tree? 63 We made it a fitnah for the wrongdoers. 64 It is a tree that comes out in the root of the jahim. 65 Its spathes are as though they were devils’ heads. 66 And they eat from it and fill the bellies with it. 67 Then they have upon it a mixture from boiling water. 68 Then their return is to the jahim. 69 They found their fathers straying. 70 So they hasten on their tracks. 71 And most of the first ones strayed before them. 72 And we sent warners among them. 73 Then look how the result of the warned was. 74 Except Allah’s sincere slaves. 75 And Nuh invoked us and excellent were the responders. 76 And we saved him and his family from the great apprehension. 77 And we made his offspring, they are the remaining. 78 And we left for him among the later ones. 79 Peace is upon him in the ‘alamin. 80 Thus do we recompense the good-doers. 81 He is of our believing slaves. 82 Then we drowned the others. 83 And of his faction is Ibrahim. 84 When he came to his lord with a sound heart. 85 When he said to his father and his people: What are you worshipping? 86 Is it calumniation, gods without Allah that you want? 87 So what do you think of the lord of the ‘alamin? 88 Then he looked at the stars. 89 Then he said: I am ailing. 90 So they turned away from him fleeing. 91 Then he swerved to their gods and said: Do you not eat? 92 What is wrong with you? You do not speak. 93 Then he swerved upon them hitting with the right hand. 94 Then they advanced towards him hurrying. 95 He said: Do you worship what you carve 96 When Allah has created you and what you do? 97 They said: Build a building for him and throw him into the jahim. 98 So they wanted a scheme with him so we made them the lowest. 99 He said: I am going to my lord; he will guide me. 100 Lord, give me of the righteous. 101 So we gave him good news of a clement boy. 102 So when he reached the striving with him he said: My son, I see in the dream that I am sacrificing you so look what you see. He said: Father, do what you are commanded. You will find me if Allah wills of the patient. 103 So when they had surrendered and he had thrown him upon his forehead 104 And we called him: Ibrahim. 105 You have fulfilled the vision. We thus recompense the good-doers. 106 This, it is the obvious affliction. 107 And we ransomed him with a great sacrifice. 108 And we left for him among the later ones. 109 Peace is upon Ibrahim. 110 Thus do we recompense the good-doers. 111 He is of our believing slaves. 112 And we gave him good news of Ishaq, a prophet among the righteous. 113 And we blessed him and Ishaq. And of their offspring is a good-doer and an obvious wrongdoer for himself. 114 And we were kindly towards Musa and Harun. 115 And we saved them and their people from the great apprehension. 116 And we helped them and they were, they, the victorious. 117 And we gave them the clarifying Book. 118 And we guided them to the straight path. 119 And we left for them in the later ones. 120 Peace is upon Musa and Harun. 121 Thus do we recompense the good-doers. 122 They are of our believing slaves. 123 And Ilyas is of the commissaries. 124 When he said to his people: Do you not fear? 125 Do you invoke Baal and leave the best of creators, 126 Allah, your lord and the lord of your first fathers? 127 But they accused him of lying so they are sent for. 128 Except Allah’s sincere slaves. 129 And we left for him in the later ones. 130 Peace is upon Il Yasin. 131 Thus do we recompense the good-doers. 132 He is of our believing slaves. 133 And Lut is of the commissaries. 134 When we saved him and all his family. 135 Except an old woman among the preceding ones. 136 Then we destroyed the others. 137 And you pass by them in the morning 138 And in the night. So do you not comprehend? 139 And Yunus is of the commissaries. 140 When he fled to the laden ship. 141 Then he drew and was of the confounded. 142 Then the whale gobbled him while he was blamable. 143 And had he not been of the praisers 144 He would have stayed in its belly to a day they are raised. 145 But we threw him outdoors while he was sick. 146 And we caused a tree of a gourd to grow over him. 147 And we sent him to 100,000 or increasing. 148 And they believed and we amused them for a time. 149 So enquire of them: Does your lord have the daughters while they have the sons? 150 Or did we create the angels females while they were witnesses? 151 Not at all! They are of their calumniation. They say: 152 Allah has begotten and they are liars. 153 Has he chosen the daughters over the sons? 154 What is wrong with you? How do you judge? 155 So do you not remember? 156 Or do you have clear authority? 157 Then bring your book if you are truthful. 158 And they have made an affinity between him and the jinn and the jinn knew that they would be sent for. 159 Praise be to Allah from what they attribute! 160 Except Allah’s sincere slaves. 161 So you and what you worship, 162 You are not tempting over him 163 Except him whom the jahim is roasting. 164 And there is none of us but has a known place. 165 And we are the clear ones. 166 And we are the glorifiers. 167 And they used to say: 168 Had we had a dhikr from the first ones, 169 We would have been Allah’s sincere slaves. 170 But they disbelieved in it and they will know. 171 And our word has preceded for our slaves the commissaries. 172 They are the victorious. 173 And our troop, they are the defeating. 174 So turn away from them until a time. 175 And see them and they will see. 176 So do they seek to hasten our torture? 177 But when it came down in their area evil was the morning of the warned. 178 And turn away from them until a time. 179 And see and they will see. 180 Praise be to your lord, the lord of honour, from what they attribute! 181 And peace is upon the commissaries. 182 And praise be to Lah, lord of the ‘alamin.
