1 Sad. By the Quran, the possessor of the dhikr. 2 Rather, those who have disbelieved are in honour and discord. 3 How many before them did we destroy of a century then they called while there is no time for escape. 4 And they wondered that a warner from themselves had come to them. And the kafirun said: This is a magician, a liar. 5 Has he made the gods one god? This is an amazing thing. 6 And the chiefs among them moved forward: Walk and be patient concerning your gods. This is a thing wanted. 7 We had not heard of this in the last cult. This is nothing but a fabrication. 8 Has the dhikr been sent down upon him from among us? Rather, they are in doubt about my dhikr. Rather, they have not yet tasted torture. 9 Or do they have the treasuries of the mercy of your lord, the mighty, the giver? 10 Or is theirs the dominion of the skies and the Earth and what is between them? Then let them ascend by the cables. 11 Troops, what is there is defeated among the parties. 12 Nuh’s people accused of lying before them and Ad and Fir’awn, the possessor of stakes. 13 And Thamud and Lut’s people and the companions of the brush. Those are the parties. 14 There is none but called the messengers liars, so right was a punishment. 15 And these do not see but one shout. There is no lapse for it. 16 And they said: Our lord, hasten for us our qitt before the day of account. 17 Be patient over what they say and remember our slave Dawud, the possessor of strength. He was a repenter. 18 We subjected the mountains with him praising in the late afternoon and daybreak. 19 And the bird packed, each a repenter to him. 20 And we made his dominion strong and gave him wisdom and sagacity of speech. 21 And has the news of the adversary come to you when they climbed the mihrab? 22 When they entered upon Dawud and he was terrified of them. They said: Do not fear. Two adversaries. Some of us have wronged the other so judge between us in truth and do not be unjust and guide us to the evenness of the path. 23 This is my brother. He has 99 ewes and I have one ewe. And he said: Give it to me as a guarantee. And he overpowered me in speech. 24 He said: He has wronged you by asking for your ewe to his ewes. And many of the associates oppress one another except those who have believed and have done the righteous deeds and few are what they are. And Dawud thought that we had tested him so he asked for forgiveness of his lord and he fell bowing and turned. 25 So we forgave him that. And he has with us zulfa and good of retreat. 26 Dawud, we have made you a successor in the land so judge between people in truth and do not follow desire for it misguides from the way of Allah. Those who stray from the way of Allah, theirs is severe torture because they forgot the day of account. 27 And we did not create the sky and the Earth and what is between them in vain. That is the assumption of those who have disbelieved. So woe to those who have disbelieved from the fire. 28 Or shall we make those who have believed and have done the righteous deeds like the corruptors on the Earth? Or shall we make the fearers like the licentious? 29 A book. We have sent it down to you blessed that they may ponder its verses and that the possessors of albab may remember. 30 And we gave Dawud Sulayman; excellent was the slave. He is repentant. 31 When the bound bountiful creatures were displayed before him in the evening. 32 And he said: I have loved the love of the good over my lord’s dhikr until they were hidden with the hijab. 33 Return them to me. Then he began stroking the legs and the necks. 34 And we tested Sulayman and threw onto his chair a body then he repented. 35 He said: Lord, forgive me and give me a dominion not behoving anyone after me. You, you are the giver. 36 Then we subjected the wind to him, running at his command, a gentle wind where he intended. 37 And the devils, every builder and diver. 38 And others linked in shackles. 39 This is our gift so be benevolent or withhold without account. 40 And he has with us a zulfa and goodness of resort. 41 And remember our slave Ayyub when he invoked his lord: I, the Devil has touched me with distress and torture. 42 Strike with your foot. This is a cool bathing place and a drink. 43 And we gave him his family and the like of them with them, a mercy from us and a remembrance for the possessors of albab. 44 And take in your hand a bundle and hit with it and do not perjure. We found him patient. Excellent was the slave. He is a repenter. 45 And mention our slaves Ibrahim and Ishaq and Ya’qub, the possessors of hands and eyesight. 46 We were sincere towards them exclusively, a remembrance of the home. 47 And they with us are of the best chosen. 48 And mention Isma’il and Al-Yasa’ and Dhul Kifl and all are of the best. 49 This is a dhikr. And for the fearers there is a good of retreat, 50 jannat of ‘Adn, the gates opened for them. 51 Reclining therein they call therein for much fruit and drink. 52 And with them the Minors of the Gaze, comrades. 53 This is what you are promised for the day of account. 54 This is our provision, there is no depletion of it. 55 This. And for the transgressors there is an evil of a retreat. 56 Jahannam. They roast therein and miserable was the bed. 57 This. So let him taste it, boiling water and pus. 58 And other of its kind, pairs. 59 This is a rushing company with you. There is no welcome for them. The fire has roasted them. 60 They said: Rather, you--there is no welcome for you. You presented it to us so miserable was the domicile. 61 They said: Our lord, he who presented this to us, increase for him double torture in the fire. 62 And they said: What is wrong with us? We do not see men whom we used to count among the evil. 63 Did we take them in derision or has eyesight swerved from them? 64 That is truth, the quarrelling of the people of the fire. 65 Say: I am only a warner and there is no god but Allah, the one, the oppressing, 66 The lord of the skies and the Earth and what is between them, the mighty, the forgiving. 67 Say: It is great news. 68 You are turning away from it. 69 I had no knowledge of the chiefs, the high one, when they were disputing. 70 I am not inspired except that I am only an obvious nadhir. 71 When your lord said to the angels: I am creating a man from clay. 72 So when I have smoothed him and blown into him from my spirit then fall down to him doing sujud. 73 So the angels did sujud, all of them together. 74 Except Iblis; he was arrogant and was of the kafirun. 75 He said: Iblis, what prevented you from doing sujud to what I have created with my hands? Were you arrogant or were you of the exalted? 76 He said: I am better than he. You created me from fire and created him from clay. 77 He said: So get out of it. You are rajim. 78 And upon you is my curse to the day of judgment. 79 He said: Lord, then give me respite to a day they are raised. 80 He said: You are of the respited. 81 To the day of the known time. 82 He said: Then by your honour I will seduce them all. 83 Except your sincere slaves among them. 84 He said: Then it is the truth and the truth I say: 85 I will fill Jahannam with you and with those who have followed you, all. 86 Say: I do not ask you any wage for it and I am not of the pretenders. 87 It is nothing but a dhikr for the ‘alamin. 88 And you shall know its news after a time.
