1 The tanzil of the book from Allah, the mighty, the wise. 2 We have sent down to you the book in truth so worship Allah, sincerely towards him in religion. 3 Indeed, Lah’s is the pure religion. And those who take protectors instead of him--We do not worship them except that they may bring us closer to Allah zulfa. Allah judges among them in what they differ about. Allah does not guide one who is a liar, a kaffar. 4 Had Allah wanted to take a child he would have chosen from what he creates what he wills. Praise be to him! He is Allah, the one, the oppressing. 5 He created the skies and the Earth in truth. He rolls up the night upon the day and rolls up the day upon the night and subjected the sun and the moon, all running for a designated term. Indeed, he is the mighty, the forgiving. 6 He created you from one soul. Then he made from it its husband. And he sent down for you of the cattle eight pairs. He creates you in the bellies of your mothers, a creation after a creation, in three darknesses. That is Allah your lord. His is the rule. There is no god but him. So how are you turned away? 7 If you disbelieve then Allah is rich from you. And he is not pleased with kufr for his slaves. And if you are grateful he is pleased with it for you. And a bearer does not bear the burden of another. Then to your lord is your return and he informs you of what you used to do. He is learned in that of the chests. 8 And when harm befalls man he invokes his lord, turning to him. Then when he bestows grace upon him from him he forgets what he used to invoke to him before and makes peers for Lah to misguide from his way. Say: Enjoy your kufr for a short while. You are of the companions of the fire. 9 Is he who is obedient during the hours of the night, doing sujud and standing, warning the hereafter and hoping for his lord’s mercy? Say: Are those who know and those who do not know equal? Only the possessors of albab remember. 10 Say: Slaves, those who have believed, fear your lord. For those who have done good in this dunya is good and Allah’s Earth is wide. Only the patient are paid their wage in full without account. 11 Say: I have been commanded to worship Allah, sincerely towards him in religion. 12 And I have been commanded to be the first of the Muslims. 13 Say: I fear if I disobey my lord the torture of a great day. 14 Say: Allah do I worship, sincere towards him in my religion. 15 So worship what you will instead of him. Say: The losers are those who have lost themselves and their families on the day of resurrection. Indeed, that is the clear forfeiture. 16 Theirs above them are shades of the fire and below them shades. That does Allah frighten his slaves with. Slaves! So fear me! 17 And those who have stayed clear of the taghut lest they worship them and have turned to Allah, theirs is the good news. So give good news to slaves. 18 Those who listen to the speech and follow the best of it, those are whom Allah has guided and those are the possessors of albab. 19 So is he upon whom the word of torture has been confirmed? Then can you rescue him in the fire? 20 But those who have feared their lord, theirs are rooms, above them built rooms, rivers running beneath them. Allah’s promise. Allah does not lag behind the appointment. 21 Have you not seen that Allah has sent down water from the sky and it has acted as springs on the Earth? Then he brings out plantation with it of different colours. Then it withers and you see it yellowing. Then he makes it debris. In that there is remembrance for the possessors of albab. 22 So is he whose chest Allah has laid open to Islam? So he is upon light from his lord. So woe to those whose hearts are hard against Allah’s dhikr. Those are in obvious error. 23 Allah has sent down the best hadith, a book, resembling, a repeated thing. The skins of those who fear their lord shiver from it then their skins and their hearts relax at Allah’s dhikr. That is Allah’s guidance. He guides therewith whom he wills. And whom Allah misguides there is no guide for him. 24 So is he who guards with his face the evil of torture on the day of resurrection? And it was said to the wrongdoers: Taste what you used to earn. 25 Those before them accused of lying and the torture came upon them from where they do not perceive. 26 So Allah made them taste the disgrace in the dunya life and the torture of the hereafter is greater, if they knew. 27 And we have coined for people in this quran of every similitude; perhaps they will remember. 28 An Arabic quran without crookedness; perhaps they will fear. 29 Allah has coined a similitude. A man concerning whom are partners quarrelling and a man, submission to a man. Are they equal in similitude? Praise be to Lah! Rather, most of them do not know. 30 You are a dead man and they are dead men. 31 Then you on the day of resurrection before your lord dispute. 32 So who is more unjust than he who has lied against Allah and has called the truth a lie when it has come to him? Is there not an abode for the kafirun in Jahannam? 33 And the one who brought the truth and believed in it, those, they are the fearers. 34 Theirs is what they will with their lord. That is the reward of the good-doers. 35 That Allah may atone for them the most evil of that which they did and recompense them with their wage for the best of that which they used to do. 36 Is Allah not enough for his slave? And they frighten you with those instead of him. And he whom Allah misguides has no guide. 37 And he whom Allah guides has no misguider. Is Allah not mighty, a possessor of vengeance? 38 And if you ask them who created the skies and the Earth they will say: Allah. Say: So have you seen what you invoke instead of Allah? If Allah wants harm for me, are they removers of his harm or he wants mercy for me, are they withholders of his mercy? Say: My sufficiency is Allah. Upon him those who put their trust put their trust. 39 Say: People, work on your position. I am working. And you will know. 40 To whom comes torture that disgraces him and a lasting torture descends upon him. 41 We have sent down the book upon you for people in truth. So he who has been guided, it is for his soul and he who has strayed, he only strays against it. And you are not an agent over them. 42 Allah causes souls to die at the time of their death and the one that has not died in its sleep. Then he withholds the one that he has decided death for and sends the other for a designated term. In that there are signs for people who ponder. 43 Or have they taken intercessors instead of Allah? Say: Even though they were not possessing anything or comprehending? 44 Say: Lah’s is all the intercession. His is the dominion of the skies and the Earth. Then to him are you returned. 45 And when Allah alone has been mentioned the hearts of those who do not believe in the hereafter have shrunk and when those instead of him have been mentioned behold, they rejoice. 46 Say: Allahumma! Splitter of the skies and the Earth, knower of the ghayb and the testimony! You judge among your slaves concerning what they used to differ in. 47 And had those who wronged all what is on the Earth and the like of it with it, they would have ransomed therewith from the evil of torture on the day of resurrection. And what they had not taken into account appeared to them from Allah. 48 And evils of what they had earned appeared to them and what they used to mock surrounded them. 49 So when harm has touched man he has invoked us then when we have bestowed grace upon him from us he has said: I have only been given it for knowledge. Rather, it is fitnah but most of them do not know. 50 Those before them said it but what they used to earn did not avail them. 51 Then the evils of what they had earned hit them. And those who have wronged of these the evils of what they have earned will hit them and they are not going to escape. 52 Did they not know that Allah extends the provision for whom he wills and is capable? In that there are signs for people who believe. 53 Say: My slaves who have been extravagant against themselves, do not despair of Allah’s mercy. Allah forgives all sins. He is the forgiver, the merciful. 54 And turn to your lord and surrender to him before the torture comes to you. Then you are not helped. 55 And follow the best of what has been sent down to you from your lord before the torture comes to you suddenly while you do not perceive. 56 Lest a soul should say: Oh my regret for what I neglected in Allah’s side and that I was of the mockers! 57 Or that it should say: Had Allah guided me I would have been of the fearers. 58 Or that it should say when it sees the torture: Had I a return I would be of the good-doers. 59 Yes, my verses came to you but you called them lies and were arrogant and were of the kafirun. 60 And on the day of resurrection you see those who lied about Allah, their faces blackened. Is there not in Jahannam a shelter for the arrogant? 61 And Allah saves those who have feared in their winning; the evil does not touch them nor do they grieve. 62 Allah is creator of everything and he is an agent over everything. 63 His are the maqalid of the skies and the Earth. And those who have disbelieved in Allah’s verses, those are the losers. 64 Say: Is it other than Allah you command me to worship, ignoramuses? 65 And you and those before you were inspired that if you associated your deeds would become worthless and you would be of the losers. 66 Rather, but worship Allah and be of the grateful. 67 And they did not estimate Allah at his true worth and all the Earth is his grasp on the day of resurrection and the skies are folded in his right hand. Praise be to him and elevated above what they associate! 68 And it was blown on the trumpet then he in the skies and he in the Earth fainted except whom Allah willed. Then it was blown thereon another and behold, they are standing, looking. 69 And the Earth shone with the light of its lord and the book was placed and the prophets and the witnesses were brought and it was decided between them in truth and they are not wronged. 70 And every soul was paid in full for what it had done and he is a knower of what they do. 71 And those who have disbelieved were driven to Jahannam in batches until when they came to it its gates were opened and its keepers said to them: Did messengers not come to you from you reading your lord’s verses to you and warning you of the meeting of this day of yours? They said: Yes, but the word of torture has been confirmed against the kafirun. 72 It was said: Enter the gates of Jahannam, abiding therein indefinitely. And miserable was the abode of the arrogant. 73 And those who have feared their lord were driven to the Jannah in batches until when they had come to it and its gates were opened and its keepers said to them: Peace be upon you. You have done well so enter it abiding indefinitely. 74 And they said: Praise be to Lah who has been true to his promise for us and has caused us to inherit the Earth. We settle from the Jannah where we will. So excellent was the wage of the workers. 75 And you see the angels bordering around the throne glorifying with their lord’s praise. And it was decided between them in truth and it was said: Praise be to Lah, lord of the ‘alamin!
