1 Ha mim. 2 The tanzil of the book from Allah, the mighty, the learned, 3 The forgiver of sins and the acceptor of repentance, the severe in punishment, the possessor of power. There is no god but him. To him is the destiny. 4 None argues about Allah’s verses except those who have disbelieved so do not let their movement in the countries delude you. 5 Nuh’s people accused of lying before them and the parties after them and every nation distressed their messenger to take him and they argued with falsehood to refute the truth therewith. So I took them and how a punishment was! 6 And thus your lord’s word was confirmed against those who disbelieved that they are the companions of the fire. 7 Those who bear the throne and those around it glorify with the praise of their lord and believe in him and seek forgiveness for those who have believed: Our lord, you have encompassed everything in mercy and knowledge so forgive those who have repented and have followed your way and protect them from the torture of jahim. 8 Our lord. And admit them to Jannat of ‘Adn which you have promised them and him who was righteous of their fathers and their husbands and their offsprings. You, you are the mighty, the wise. 9 And protect them from the evil deeds and him whom you protect from the evil deeds on that day, you have had mercy on. And that is the great win. 10 Those who have disbelieved call: Allah’s aversion is greater than your aversion of yourselves when you are called to the faith and disbelieve. 11 They said: Our lord, you caused us to die twice and vivified us twice and we have acknowledged our sins. So is there a way to an exit? 12 That is because when Allah was petitioned alone you disbelieved and if it is associated with him you believe. So judgment is Lah’s, the high, the big. 13 He is the one who shows you his signs and sends down to you from the sky provision. And none remembers but him who turns. 14 So invoke Allah being sincere towards him in religion even if the kafirun have disliked. 15 The elevated of degrees, possessor of the throne. He throws the spirit of his command upon whom he wills of his slaves to warn of the day of meeting. 16 On a day they come forth, not hiding anything about them from Allah. Whose is the dominion today? Lah’s, the one, the oppressing. 17 Today every soul is recompensed for what it has earned. There is no wrong today. Allah is the quick of account. 18 And warn them of the day of Azifah when hearts are at throats, choking. The wrongdoers have no intimate friend or intercessor who is obeyed. 19 He knows the treachery of the eyes and what the chests conceal. 20 And Allah decides in truth and those they invoke instead of him do not decide anything. Allah is the hearer, the seer. 21 Have they not travelled on the Earth and seen how the result of those who were before them was? They were stronger than they in strength and tracks in the Earth but Allah took them for their sins and they had no protector against Allah. 22 That is because they--their messengers used to come to them with the proofs but they disbelieved so Allah took them. He is strong, the severe in punishment. 23 And we sent Musa with our signs and clear authority 24 To Fir’awn and Haman and Qarun but they said: A magician, a liar. 25 Then when he brought them the truth from us they said: Kill the sons of those who have believed with him and let their women live. And the scheme of the kafirun is but in error. 26 And Fir’awn said: Leave me to kill Musa and let him invoke his lord. I fear that he will change your religion or cause corruption to appear in the land. 27 And Musa said: I have taken refuge in my lord and your lord from every arrogant man not believing in the day of account. 28 And a believing man from Fir’awn’s family who conceals his faith said: Will you kill a man because he says: My lord is Allah and has brought you the proofs from your lord? And if he is a liar then upon him is his lie and if he is truthful, some of that which he promises you will strike you. Allah does not guide him who is extravagant, a liar. 29 People, yours is the dominion today, conspicuous in the land but who helps us against Allah’s horribleness if it came to us? Fir’awn said: I show you nothing but what I see and I do not guide you except to the right path. 30 And the one who believed said: People, I fear for you the like of the day of parties, 31 The like of the perseverance of Nuh’s people and of Ad and Thamud and those after them. And Allah does not want wrong for the slaves. 32 And people, I fear for you the day of calling. 33 On a day you turn away fleeing you have no defender against Allah. And him whom Allah misguides has no guide. 34 And Yusuf came to you before with the proofs but you did not cease in doubt about what he had brought you until when he perished you said: Allah will not raise a messenger after him. Thus Allah misguides him who is extravagant, a doubter. 35 Those who argue concerning Allah’s verses without authority having come to them have become too great an aversion with Allah and with those who have believed. Thus Allah seals every arrogant tyrant heart. 36 And Fir’awn said: Haman, build me a sarh; perhaps I shall reach the cables, 37 The cables of the skies and that I may look at Musa’s god and I think him untruthful. And thus the evil of his deed was adorned for Fir’awn and he was blocked from the way. And Fir’awn’s scheme was nothing but in ruin. 38 And the one who believed said: People, follow me, I shall guide you to the right way. 39 People, this dunya life is only enjoyment and the hereafter is the home of domicile. 40 He who has done an evil deed is not recompensed except with the like of it and he who has done a righteous deed, of male or female, and he is a believer, those enter the Jannah, provided for therein without account. 41 And people, what is wrong with me that I call you to salvation and you call me to the fire? 42 You call me to disbelieve in Allah and to associate with him what I have no knowledge of and I call you to the mighty, the forgiving. 43 There is no misdemeanour that what you call me to has no call in the dunya or in the hereafter and that our reason is to Allah and that the extravagant are the companions of the fire. 44 So you will remember what I say to you and I commit my affair to Allah. Allah is a seer of the slaves. 45 So Allah protected him from evil deeds of what they deceived and the evil of torture surrounded Fir’awn’s family, 46 The fire; they are exposed to it morning and evening. And on a day the Hour comes: Cause Fir’awn’s family to enter the severest torture. 47 And when they dispute in the fire the weak say to those who had been arrogant: We were followers of yours so can you avert a share of the fire from us? 48 Those who were arrogant said: We are all in it. Allah has judged between the slaves. 49 And those in the fire said to the keepers of Jahannam: Invoke your lord to lighten for us a day of the torture. 50 They said: Did your messengers not come to you with the proofs? They said: Yes. They said: Then invoke and the invocation of the kafirun is nothing but in error. 51 We help our messengers and those who have believed in the dunya life and on a day the witnesses rise. 52 On a day their excuse does not benefit the wrongdoers and theirs is the curse and theirs the evil of the home. 53 And we gave Musa the guidance and caused the Banu Isra'il to inherit the Book, 54 Guidance and a remembrance for the possessors of albab. 55 So be patient. Allah’s promise is true. And ask for forgiveness for your sin and glorify with the praise of your lord in the evening and the morning. 56 Those who argue concerning Allah’s verses without authority having come to them, there is nothing in their chests but atrocity, they do not reach it. So seek refuge in Allah. He is the hearer, the seer. 57 The creation of the skies and the Earth is bigger than the creation of people but most people do not know. 58 And the blind man and the seeing are not equal and those who have believed and have done the righteous deeds and not the insulting one. Little is what you remember. 59 The Hour is coming; there is no doubt about it, but most people do not believe. 60 And your lord said: Invoke me; I may answer you. Those who are arrogant to worship me will enter Jahannam humiliated. 61 Allah is the one who made for you the night to dwell in and the day clear-eyed. Allah is the possessor of favour to people but most people do not thank. 62 That is Allah your lord, creator of everything. There is no god but him. So how are you deluded? 63 Thus are deluded those who were rejecting Allah’s verses. 64 Allah is the one who made the Earth a domicile for you and the sky a building and formed you and perfected your forms and provided you with the good things. That is Allah your lord. So blessed be Allah, lord of the ‘alamin! 65 He is the living one. There is no god but him, so invoke him, sincere towards him in religion. Praise be to Lah, lord of the ‘alamin! 66 Say: I was forbidden to worship those you invoke instead of Allah when the proofs came to me from my lord and I was commanded to surrender to the lord of the ‘alamin. 67 He is the one who created you from dirt then from a drop then from a blood clot then he brings you out as a child then that you may reach your maturity then that you may be old men and among you is he who is caused to die before and that you may reach a designated term and perhaps you will comprehend. 68 He is the one who vivifies and causes to die. And when he has decided a matter he only says to it: Be and it is. 69 Have you not looked at those who argue about Allah’s verses? How they are turned away? 70 Those who have called the book a lie and what we have sent our messengers with but they will know. 71 When the shackles are on their necks and the chains, dragged 72 Into the boiling water then into the fire, heated. 73 Then it was said to them: Where is what you used to associate 74 Instead of Allah? They said: They have strayed from us. Rather, we did not invoke anything before. Thus Allah misguides the kafirun. 75 That is because you used to rejoice in the land without right and because you used to be merry. 76 Enter the gates of Jahannam, abiding indefinitely therein. And miserable was the shelter of the arrogant. 77 So be patient. Allah’s promise is true. So whether we show you some of that which we promise them or we cause you to die, to us they are returned. 78 And we sent messengers before you. Among them those we have related to you and among them those we have not related to you. And it was not for a messenger to bring a sign except with Allah’s permission. So when Allah’s command came it was decided in truth and there the nullifiers lost. 79 Allah is the one who made for you cattle that you may ride some of them and some of them you eat. 80 And you have in them benefits and that you may reach a need through them in your chests. And upon them and on the ships you are carried. 81 And he shows you his signs. So which of Allah’s signs do you deny? 82 So have they not travelled on the Earth and seen how the result of those before them was? They were more than they and stronger in strength and tracks in the land but what they used to earn did not avail them. 83 Then when their messengers came to them with the proofs they rejoiced in what they had of knowledge and what they used to mock surrounded them. 84 So when they saw our horribleness they said: We have believed in Allah alone and have disbelieved in what we used to associate with him. 85 But their faith did not benefit them when they saw our horribleness. Allah’s sunnah which passed away concerning his slaves. And there the kafirun lost.
