1 Ha mim. 2 A tanzil from Al-Rahman, Al-Rahim, 3 A book, its verses detailed, an Arabic quran for people who know, 4 A bearer of good news and a nadhir, but most of them abandon, so they do not hear. 5 And they said: Our hearts are in coverings from what you call us to and in our ears there is deafness and between us and you there is a hijab. So work; we are working. 6 Say: I am only a man the like of you. I am inspired that your god is one god, so be upright towards him and ask him for forgiveness. And woe to the mushrikun, 7 Those who do not give the zakat, and they in the hereafter are kafirun. 8 Those who have believed and have done the righteous deeds, theirs is a wage without mamnun. 9 Say: Do you disbelieve in the one who created the Earth in two days and make peers for him? That is the lord of the ‘alamin. 10 And he placed therein stabilisers above it and blessed thereon and determined thereon its livelihoods in four sawa’ days, for those who ask. 11 Then he ascended to the sky when it was smoke and said to it and to the Earth: Come willingly or unwillingly. They said: We have come willingly. 12 So he finished them as seven skies in two days and inspired in every sky its affair. And we adorned the lowest sky with lamps and as a defence. That is the determination of the mighty, the learned. 13 And if they turn away then say: I have warned you of a thunderbolt the like of the thunderbolt of Ad and Thamud. 14 When the messengers came to them in front of them and behind them: Not to worship but Allah, they said: Had our lord willed he would have sent angels down. So we are kafirun in what you have been sent with. 15 Then as for Ad, they were arrogant in the land without right and said: Who is more powerful then we in strength? Did they not see that Allah, the one who created them, he is more powerful than they in strength? And they used to reject our signs. 16 So we sent against them a squeaking wind on calamitous days that we might make them taste the torture of disgrace in the dunya life. And the torture of the hereafter is more disgracing and they are not helped. 17 And as for Thamud we guided them but they preferred blindness to guidance so the thunderbolt of abasing torture took them for what they used to earn. 18 And we saved those who believed and used to fear. 19 And on a day the enemies of Allah are gathered to the fire then they are divided 20 Until when what they came to it their hearing and their eyesight and their skins testified against them for what they used to do. 21 And they said to their skins: Why have you testified against us? They said: Allah has caused us to talk, the one who made everything talk, and he created you the first time and to him you are returned. 22 And you were not covering yourselves lest your hearing and your eyesight and your skins should testify against you but you thought that Allah does not know much about what you do. 23 And that is your assumption which you assumed of your lord. It has ruined you and you have become of the losers. 24 And if they endure the fire is a shelter for them, and if they seek favour they are not of those who receive favour. 25 And we have appointed for them qurana’ and they have adorned for them what is in front of them and what is behind them and the speech was confirmed against them in nations that have passed away before them of jinn and men. They were losers. 26 And those who have disbelieved have said: Do not listen to this quran and make a row therein; perhaps you will defeat. 27 But we will make those who have disbelieved taste severe torture and recompense them with the worst of that which they used to do. 28 That is the penalty of Allah’s enemies, the fire; theirs therein is the home of perpetuity as a penalty for what they used to reject of our verses. 29 And those who disbelieved said: Our lord, show us those who misled us of jinn and men that we may put them under our feet that they may be of the lowest. 30 Those who have said: Our lord is Allah then have become straight, the angels descend upon them: Not to fear nor to grieve and give good news of the Jannah which you are promised. 31 We are your protectors in the dunya life and in the hereafter. And yours therein is what your souls desire. And yours therein is what you maintain. 32 A lodging from a forgiver, a merciful one. 33 And who is better in speech than he who has called to Allah and has done a righteous deed and has said: I am of the Muslims? 34 And not equal are the good deed and the evil. Push away with that which is better then behold, the one who is between you and him is enmity as though he were a protector, an intimate friend. 35 And it is not granted except those who have been patient and it is not granted except a possessor of great luck. 36 And if an incitement to evil from the Devil comes to you, seek refuge with Allah. He is the hearer, the learned. 37 And of his signs are the night and the day and the sun and the moon. Do not do sujud to the sun nor to the moon but do sujud to Lah, the one who created them, if you worship him. 38 But if they are arrogant then those with your lord give praise to him in the night and the day and they do not weary. 39 And of his signs are that you see the Earth humble but when we have sent down water upon it it has trembled and increased. The one who has vivified it is the vivifier of the dead. He is mighty over everything. 40 Those who distort in our verses are not hidden from us. So is he who is thrown into the fire better or is he who comes secure on the day of resurrection? Do what you have willed. He is a seer of what you do. 41 Those who have disbelieved in the Dhikr when it has come to them. And it is a mighty book. 42 Falsehood does not come to it in front of it nor behind it. A tanzil from a wise, praiseworthy one. 43 Nothing is said to you but what was said to the messengers before you. Your lord is a possessor of forgiveness and a possessor of painful punishment. 44 And had we made it a foreign quran, they would have said: Why have its verses not been detailed? Is it foreign and an Arab? Say: It is for those who have believed, guidance and healing. And those who do not believe, in their ears is deafness and it is blindness for them. Those are called from a distant place. 45 And we gave Musa the Book but it was differed therein. And had speech not preceded from your lord it would have been decided between them. And they are in doubt about it, feeling doubt. 46 He who has done a righteous deed then it is for his soul and he who has done evil then it is against it. And your lord is not unjust towards the slaves. 47 To him is returned the knowledge of the Hour. And no fruits come out of their spathes and no female bears or lays except with his knowledge. And on a day he calls them: Where are my partners? They said: We have announced to you; there is no witness among us. 48 And strayed from them has what they used to invoke before and they have thought that they would have no escape. 49 Man does not weary of petitioning for good and if evil has touched him then despairing and despondency. 50 And if we have caused him to taste mercy from us after adversity has touched him, he will say: This is mine and I do not think the Hour is coming and if I have been returned to my lord, goodness is mine with him. But we will inform those who have disbelieved of what they have done and cause them to taste some thick torture. 51 And when we have graced man he has turned away and distanced himself beside him and when evil has touched him then a possessor of broad petition. 52 Say: Have you seen if it were from Allah then you have disbelieved in it, who is more astray than he who is in far schism? 53 We shall show them our signs on the horizons and in themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth. Was it not enough concerning your lord that he is a witness over everything? 54 Indeed, they are in doubt about their lord’s meeting. Indeed, he surrounds everything.
