1 By the winnowers of winnowing 2 And the carriers of a burden 3 And the flowers with ease 4 And the muqasimat of a matter. 5 Only what you are promised is truthful 6 And the din is reality. 7 By the sky full of hubuk. 8 You are in different speech. 9 Deluded from it is he who has been deluded. 10 May the liars be killed, 11 Those who are heedless in abundance! 12 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 13 On a day they are tried on the fire. 14 Taste your fitnah. This is what you were asking to hasten. 15 The fearers are in jannat and springs 16 Taking what their lord has given them. They were before that good-doers. 17 They used to slumber little of the night. 18 And in the early hours they seek forgiveness. 19 And in their monies is right for the beggar and the destitute. 20 And on the Earth are signs for the certain 21 And in yourselves. So do you not see? 22 And in the sky is your provision and what you are promised. 23 So by the lord of the sky and the Earth it is truth, the like of what you speak. 24 Has the hadith of Ibrahim’s honoured guest come to you? 25 When they entered upon him and said: Peace. He said: Peace. An indeterminate people. 26 He turned to his family and brought a fat calf. 27 And he made it approach them. He said: Do you not eat? 28 And he perceived a fear of them. They said: Do not fear. And they gave him good news of a learned boy. 29 Then his woman approached clamouring and struck her face and said: An old infertile woman! 30 They said: Thus said your lord. He is the wise, the learned. 31 He said: Then what is your affair, commissaries? 32 They said: We have been sent to a criminal people 33 To send upon them stones of clay 34 Marked by your lord for the wasters. 35 So we brought out one who was therein of the believers. 36 But we did not find therein other than a house of the Muslims. 37 And we left therein a sign for those who fear the painful torture. 38 And in Musa when we sent him to Fir’awn with clear authority. 39 But he turned away with his support and said: A magician or a jinni-possessed man. 40 So we took him and threw him away into the sea when he was blamable. 41 And in Ad when we sent against them the barren wind. 42 It leaves nothing that it came upon but made it like worn-out clothes. 43 And in Thamud when it was said to them: Enjoy for a time. 44 But they rebelled against their lord’s command so the thunderbolt took them while they were looking. 45 And they were not able to stand nor were they victors. 46 And Nuh’s people before. They were a fasiq people. 47 And the sky, we built it with hands and we are able. 48 And the Earth, we spread it and excellent were the levellers. 49 And of everything we created two pairs; perhaps you will remember. 50 So flee to Allah. I am an obvious nadhir from him to you. 51 And do not make with Allah another god. I am an obvious nadhir from him to you. 52 Thus no messenger came before them but they said: A magician or a jinni-possessed man. 53 Have they transferred it? Rather, they are an oppressive people. 54 So turn away from them and you are not going to be blameworthy. 55 And remind. And the remembrance benefits the believers. 56 And I did not create jinn and man but to worship me. 57 I do not want any provision from them and I do not want them to feed me. 58 Allah, he is the provider, the durable possessor of power. 59 So for those who have wronged is a portion like the portion of their companions, so let them not ask to hasten me. 60 So woe to those who have disbelieved from their day which they are promised.
