S 52 (76) Al-Tur

1 By the Tur, 2 By the inscribed book 3 In a circulated parchment, 4 By the Bayt al-Ma’mur, 5 By the raised roof, 6 By the swelling sea. 7 Your lord’s torture is happening. 8 There is no motivator for it. 9 On a day the sky moves with a moving 10 And the mountains travel with a travelling. 11 Then woe on that day to those who accuse of lying, 12 Those who play in getting involved. 13 On a day they are called to the fire of Jahannam with a calling. 14 This is the fire that you used to say was a lie. 15 So is this magic or do you not see? 16 Roast it and be patient or do not be patient, it is alikeness for you. You are only recompensed for what you used to do. 17 The fearers are in jannat and bliss, 18 Joking with what their lord has given them and their lord has protected them from the torture of jahim. 19 Eat and drink with wholesomeness for what you used to do. 20 Reclining on arranged beds and we married them to Hur ‘In. 21 And those who have believed and their offspring has followed them in faith, we have attached their offspring to them and we have not deprived them of their deeds of anything. Every person for what he has earned pawned. 22 And we have supplied them with fruit and meat of what they desire. 23 They snatch therein from one another a cup, there is no nonsense therein nor offence. 24 And boys circulate for them upon them as though they were hidden pearls. 25 And they turned forward to one another asking. 26 They said: We were before abject regarding our family 27 But Allah has been benevolent to us and has protected us from the torture of the Samum. 28 We used to invoke him before. He is the pious, the merciful. 29 So remind. So you are not by your lord’s grace a soothsayer or a jinni-possessed man. 30 Or do they say: A poet. We await the doubt of the vicissitudes of time for him? 31 Say: Wait, I am with you, among those waiting. 32 Or do their dreams command them this or are they an oppressive people? 33 Or do they say: He has made it up? Rather, they do not believe. 34 So let them bring a hadith the like of it if they are truthful. 35 Or were they created from nothing or are they the creators? 36 Or did they create the skies and the Earth? Rather, they are not certain. 37 Or do they have your lord’s treasuries or are they the dominant? 38 Or do they have a staircase listening therewith? Let him bring their listener with clear authority. 39 Or are his the daughters and yours the sons? 40 Or do you ask them for a wage and they are burdened with a liability? 41 Or do they have the ghayb so they write? 42 Or do they want a scheme? But those who have disbelieved are the schemed against. 43 Or do they have a god other than Allah? Praise be to Allah from what they associate! 44 And if they see a fragment falling from the sky they say: Heaped clouds. 45 So leave them until they meet their day on which they faint. 46 On a day their scheme does not avail them at all nor are they helped. 47 And for those who have done wrong torture without that but most of them do not know. 48 And be patient for your lord’s judgment and you are in our eyes. And praise with your lord’s praise when you rise. 49 And the night and praise him and the declining of the stars.
