1 Allah has heard the speech of the one who argues with you concerning her husband and complains to Allah. And Allah hears your talk. Allah is a hearer, a seer. 2 Those who pronounce zihar among you from their women, they are not their mothers. None are their mothers but those who bore them. And they say baseness of speech and untruth. And Allah is a pardoner, a forgiver. 3 And those who pronounce zihar from their women then return to what they have said and the freeing of a neck before they touch each other. That are you admonished with. And Allah is an expert in what you do. 4 So he who has not found then fasting for two months consecutively before they touch each other. But he who was not able then the feeding of 60 needy men. That, that you may believe in Allah and his messenger and those are Allah’s hudud and for the kafirun there is painful torture. 5 Those who oppose Allah and his messenger have been suppressed as those before them have been suppressed. And we have sent down clear verses. And for the kafirun there is base torture. 6 On a day Allah raises them all and informs them of what they did. Allah has enumerated it when they had forgotten it. And Allah is a witness over everything. 7 Have you not seen that Allah knows what is in the skies and what is on the Earth? There is no confidential talk of three but he is the fourth of them nor of five but he is the sixth of them nor less than that nor more but he is with them wherever they were. Then he informs them of what they did on the day of resurrection. Allah is learned in everything. 8 Have you not seen those who were forbidden confidential talk then return to what they were forbidden and hold confidential talk for wrong and oppressing and disobedience to the messenger? And when they have come to you they greet you with what Allah has not greeted you with and say in themselves: Why does Allah not torture us for what we say? Their sufficiency is Jahannam, they roast in it and miserable was the destiny. 9 Those who have believed, when you have held confidential talk do not hold confidential talk for wrong and oppressing and disobedience to the messenger, and hold confidential talk for righteousness and taqwa. And fear Allah whom you are gathered to. 10 Confidential talk is only from the Devil to grieve those who have believed but he does not harm them at all except with Allah’s permission. And in Allah let the believers put their trust. 11 Those who have believed, when it has been said to you: Spread out! in your councils, then spread out. Allah makes room for you. And when it has been said: Rise! then rise. Allah raises those who have believed among you and those who have been given knowledge in degrees. And Allah is an expert in what you do. 12 Those who have believed, when you have consulted the messenger privately offer in the presence of your confidential talk a charity. That is better for you and purer. But if you have not found then Allah is a forgiver, merciful. 13 Have you been scared of offering charities in the presence of your confidential talk? Then when you have not done and Allah has repented for you, then perform salat and give the zakat and obey Allah and his messenger. And Allah is an expert in what you do. 14 Have you seen those who have taken a people as protectors whom Allah has become angry with? They are not of you nor of them and they swear to the lie while they know. 15 Allah has prepared for them severe torture. They--evil was what they used to do. 16 They have taken their oaths as a cover so they have blocked from the way of Allah so theirs is base torture. 17 Their monies will not avail them nor their children against Allah at all. Those are the companions of the fire; they abide therein indefinitely. 18 On a day Allah raises them all and they swear to him as they swear to you. And they think that they are on something. Indeed, they are the liars. 19 The Devil has captured them so he has made them forget Allah’s dhikr. Those are the Devil’s party. Indeed, The Devil’s party are the losers. 20 Those who prevent Allah and his messenger, those are among the subdued. 21 Allah has written: I will defeat, I and my messengers. Allah is strong, mighty. 22 You do not find a people believing in Allah and the last day having affection for those who have opposed Allah and his messenger even if they were their fathers or their sons or their brothers or their clan. Those--he has written faith in their hearts and supported them with spirit from him. And he admits them to jannat, rivers running beneath them, abiding therein indefinitely. Allah was pleased with them and they were pleased with him. Those are Allah’s party. Indeed, Allah’s party are the successful.
