1 When the hypocrites came to you, they said: We testify that you are Allah’s messenger. And Allah knows that you are his messenger, and Allah testifies that the hypocrites are false. 2 They have taken their oaths as a veil, so they have blocked from the way of Allah. They--evil was what they used to do. 3 That is because they believed then disbelieved. So their hearts were sealed, so they do not have knowledge. 4 And when you have seen them their bodies please you and if they say you listen to their speech as though they were piled up wood. They think every shout is against them. They are the enemy so watch out for them. Allah fight them! How are they deluded? 5 And when it was said to them: Come, Allah’s messenger will ask for forgiveness for you, they turned their heads aside and you saw them turning away when they were arrogant. 6 It is equal to them whether you have asked for forgiveness for them or have not asked for forgiveness for them. Allah will not forgive them. Allah does not guide the fasiq people. 7 They are the ones who say: Do not spend on those who who are with Allah’s messenger until they disband. And Lah’s are the treasuries of the skies and the Earth but the hypocrites do not comprehend. 8 They say: If we return to Al-Madinah the mightier will expel the degraded one from it. And Lah’s is the honour and his messenger’s and the believers’ but the hypocrites do not know. 9 Those who have believed, let not your monies or your children divert you from Allah’s dhikr. And those who do that, those, they are the losers. 10 And spend from what we have provided you with before death comes to one of you and he says: Lord, why did you not hold me back for a near term so that I could give charity and be of the righteous? 11 But Allah will not hold a soul back when its term has come. And Allah is an expert in what you do.
