1 Alif lam mim sad. 2 A book that has been sent down to you so let there be no perplexity in your chest from it that you may warn therewith and as a remembrance for the believers. 3 Follow what has been sent down to you from your lord and do not follow protectors instead of him. Little is what you remember. 4 And how much of a village did we destroy and our horribleness came to it at night or when they were napping! 5 And their assertion when our horribleness came to them was nothing but that they said: We were wrongdoers. 6 So we will question those whom were sent to and we will question the commissaries. 7 And we will narrate to them with knowledge and we were not absent. 8 And the weight on that day is the truth. So those whose scales were heavy then those are the successful. 9 And those whose scales were light then those are the ones who have lost their souls because they used to be unjust to our verses. 10 And we empowered you on the Earth and we made for you thereon livelihoods. Little is what you thank. 11 And we created you then we formed you. Then we said to the angels: Do sujud to Adam. So they did sujud except Iblis. He was not of those who did sujud. 12 He said: What prevented you not to do sujud when I commanded you? He said: I am better than he. You created me from fire and created him from clay. 13 He said: Then get down from it; it is not for you to be arrogant therein. So get out. You are of the low. 14 He said: Give me respite until a day they are raised. 15 He said: You are of the respited. 16 He said: So because you have seduced me I will sit for them on your straight path. 17 Then I will come to them from in front of them and from behind them and from their right and from their left and you do not find most of them grateful. 18 He said: Get out of it disgraced, forced out. He who has followed you of them will I fill Jahannam with you all. 19 And Adam, dwell, you and your husband, in the Jannah, and eat from where you will but do not approach this tree lest you be of the wrongdoers. 20 Then the Devil whispered to them to display to them what had been hidden from them of their pudenda. And he said: Did your lord not forbid you this tree but that you be angels or be of the aeonians? 21 And he said to them: I am to you of the advisers. 22 So he showed them by delusion. Then when they tasted the tree their pudenda appeared to them and they began to sew upon themselves from the leaves of the Jannah. And their lord called them: Did I not forbid you from this tree and say to you: The Devil is an obvious enemy to you? 23 They said: Our lord, we have wronged ourselves and if you do not forgive us and have mercy on us we shall be of the losers. 24 He said: Get down, some of you an enemy to others. And you have on the Earth a domicile and goods for a time. 25 He said: Thereon you live and thereon you die and from it you are brought out. 26 Banu Adam, we have sent down upon you clothing. It covers your pudenda and feathering. And the clothing of taqwa, that is best. That is of Allah's signs. Perhaps they will remember. 27 Banu Adam, let the Devil not tempt you as he expelled your parents from the Jannah, stripping them of their clothes to show them their pudenda. He sees you, he and his tribe, from where you do not see them. We have made the devils protectors for those who do not believe. 28 And when they did fahishah they said: We found our fathers on it and Allah has commanded us it. Say: Allah does not command fahishah. Do you say of Allah what you do not know? 29 Say: My lord has commanded equity and set your faces at every mosque and invoke him sincere towards him in the religion. As he began you do you return. 30 A party he has guided and a party he has recognised. Upon them is straying. They have taken the devils as protectors instead of Allah and they think that they are guided. 31 Banu Adam, take your adornment at every mosque and eat and drink and do not exceed. He does not love the exceeders. 32 Say: Who has forbidden Allah’s adornment which he has brought out for his slaves and the good things of the provision? Say: They are for those who have believed in the dunya life, exclusively, the day of resurrection. Thus do we detail the verses for people who know. 33 Say: My lord has only forbidden the fawahish what was invisible thereof and what was hidden and iniquity and oppression without right and that you associate with Allah what he has not sent down authority for and that you say about Allah what you do not know. 34 And for every nation a term. So when their term has come they do not delay an hour nor do they bring forward. 35 Banu Adam, if messengers from you come to you relating to you my verses, then those who have feared and reformed, then there is no fear upon them nor do they grieve. 36 And those who have called our verses a lie and have been arrogant towards them, those are the companions of the fire, they abiding therein indefinitely. 37 So who is more unjust than he who has fabricated a lie against Allah or has called his verses a lie? Those, their share from the book reaches them until when our messengers came to them causing them to die. They said: Where is what you used to invoke instead of Allah? They said: They strayed from us. And they testified against themselves that they were kafirun. 38 He said: Enter among nations that passed away before you of jinn and men in the fire. Every time a nation entered it cursed its sister until when they had overtaken one another in it, all, the last of them said of the first of them: Our lord, these misguided us so give them double torture of the fire. He said: For all is double but you do not know. 39 And the first of them said to the last of them: Then you had no favour over us so taste the torture for what you used to earn. 40 Those who have called our verses a lie and have been arrogant towards them, the gates of the sky are not opened for them and they do not enter the Jannah until the camel passes into the eye of the needle. And thus do we recompense the criminals. 41 Theirs of Jahannam is a bed and above them are covers. And thus do we recompense the wrongdoers. 42 And those who have believed and done the righteous deeds, we do not make difficulties for a soul except in its capacity. Those are the companions of the Jannah, they abide therein indefinitely. 43 And we pulled out what is in their chests of malignity. Rivers run beneath them. And they said: Praise be to Lah who has guided us to this and we were not to be guided if Allah had not guided us. Our lord’s messengers came with the truth. And they were called: That is the Jannah, you have been caused to inherit it for what you used to do. 44 And the companions of the Jannah called to the companions of the fire: We have found what our lord promised us to be true. So have you found what your lord promised to be true? They said: Yes. Then a caller called among them: Allah’s curse is upon the wrongdoers, 45 Those who hinder from the way of Allah and seek crookedness in it and they in the hereafter are kafirun. 46 And between them is a screen and on the heights are men recognising all by their mark. And they called to the companions of the Jannah: Peace be upon you. They have not entered it and they hope. 47 And when their eyesight was turned facing the companions of the fire they said: Our lord, do not put us with the wrongdoing people. 48 And the companions of the heights called to men they recognise by their mark. They said: Your gathering has not availed you and what you were arrogant about. 49 Are these the ones of whom you swore Allah would not bestow mercy upon? Enter the Jannah. There is no fear upon you and you do not grieve. 50 And the companions of the fire called to the companions of the Jannah: Pour out upon us some of the water or of what Allah has provided you with. They said: Allah has forbidden them to the kafirun. 51 Those who took their religion as fun and a game and whom the dunya life deluded. So today we forget them as they forgot the meeting of their day, this, and what they used to reject our verses. 52 And we brought them a book which we detailed au courant as guidance and mercy for people who believe. 53 Do they await but its interpretation? On a day its interpretation comes those who forgot it before say: Our lord’s messengers came with the truth so do we have any intercessors that they may intercede for us or are we returned that we may do other than that which we used to do? They have lost themselves and strayed from them has what they used to fabricate. 54 Your lord is Allah who created the skies and the Earth in six days then ascended the throne. He covers the night with the day seeking it quickly, and the sun and the moon and the stars--subjected by his command. Indeed, his is the creation and the command. Blessed be Allah, lord of the ‘alamin. 55 Invoke your lord in obtestation and in secret. He does not love the transgressors. 56 And do not cause corruption on the Earth after its reformation. And invoke him in fear and greed. Allah’s mercy is near the good-doers. 57 And he is the one who sends the winds as good news in front of his mercy until when they have carried a heavy cloud. We drove it to a dead country then we sent down with it water and we brought out with it all fruits. Thus we bring out the dead; perhaps you will remember. 58 And the good country, its vegetation comes out with its lord’s permission, and that which was bad does not come out except crabbedly. Thus do we explain the signs for people who thank. 59 We sent Nuh to his people and he said: People, worship Allah, you have no god other than him. I fear for you torture of a great day. 60 The chiefs of his people said: We see you in obvious error. 61 He said: People, there is no deludedness in me but I am a messenger from the lord of the ‘alamin. 62 I convey to you my lord’s messages and advise you and I know from Allah what you do not know. 63 And have you wondered that a dhikr from your lord has come to you upon a man among you that he may warn you and that you may fear? And perhaps you will be shown mercy. 64 But they called him a liar so we saved him and those with him in the ship. And we drowned those who called our signs a lie. They were a blind people. 65 And to Ad their brother Hud. He said: People, worship Allah, you have no god other than him. So do you not fear? 66 The chiefs of those who had disbelieved of his people said: We see you in foolishness and we think you are of the liars. 67 He said: People, there is no foolishness in me but I am a messenger from the lord of the ‘alamin. 68 I convey to you my lord’s messages and I am a trustworthy adviser to you. 69 And have you wondered that a dhikr has come to you from your lord upon a man among you that he may warn you? And remember when he made you successors after Nuh’s people and increased you in creation extensively. So remember Allah’s favours; perhaps you will succeed. 70 They said: Have you come to us that we should worship Allah alone and leave what our fathers used to worship? Then bring us what you promise us if you are of the truthful. 71 He said: Rijs and anger have fallen upon you from your lord. Do you argue with me concerning names that you have named, you and your fathers? Allah has not sent down any authority for them. So wait. I am with you of those waiting. 72 So we saved him and those with him with mercy from us. And we cut the root of those who said that our verses were a lie and they were not believers. 73 And to Thamud their brother Salih. He said: People, worship Allah. You have no god other than him. A proof has come to you from your lord. This is Allah’s cow camel, a sign for you. So leave it to eat on Allah’s Earth and do not touch it with evil lest painful torture takes you. 74 And remember when he made you successors after Ad and lodged you in the land. You take fortresses from its plains and you carve the mountains as houses. So remember Allah’s favours and do not act wickedly in the land, corrupting. 75 The chiefs of those who were arrogant of his people said to those who were found weak, to him who believed of them: Do you know that Salih is a commissary from his lord? They said: We are believers in what he has been sent with. 76 Those who were arrogant said: We are kafirun in that which you have believed in. 77 Then they hamstrung the cow camel and were insolent towards their lord’s command and said: Salih, bring us what you promise us if you are of the commissaries. 78 So the earthquake took them and they became perching in their home. 79 So he turned away from them and said: People, I have conveyed to you my lord’s message and advised you but you do not love the advisers. 80 And Lut when he said to his people: Do you come to fahishah that no-one of the ‘alamin has preceded you in? 81 You come to men lustfully instead of women. Rather, you are a people who are extravagant. 82 And his people’s answer was nothing but that they said: Expel them from your village. They are people who purify themselves. 83 So we saved him and his family except his woman. She was of those remaining behind. 84 And we rained a rain upon them. So see how the result of the criminals was. 85 And to Madyan their brother Shuaib. He said: People, worship Allah. You have no god other than him. A proof from your lord has come to you. So give the full measure and the balance and do not reduce the people’s things and do not corrupt in the land after its reformation. That is better for you if you are believers. 86 And do not sit on every path threatening and blocking from the way of Allah him who has believed in him and seeking it crookedness. And remember when you were few and he increased you. And see how the result of the corrupters was. 87 And if there was a band of you who have believed in that which I have been sent with and a band who have not believed then be patient until Allah judges between us. And he is the best of judges. 88 The chiefs of those who were arrogant of his people said: We will expel you, Shuaib, and those who have believed with you from our village or you return to our cult. He said: Even if we were disliking? 89 We would have fabricated a lie against Allah if we returned to your cult after when Allah had saved us from it. And it is not for us to return to it except that Allah our lord wills. Our lord has encompassed everything in knowledge. In Allah we have put our trust. Our lord, decide between us and our people in truth and you are the best of openers. 90 And the chiefs of those who had disbelieved of his people said: If you follow Shuaib, you are then losers. 91 Then the earthquake took them and they became perching in their home. 92 Those who called Shuaib a liar as though they had not availed therein. Those who called Shuaib a liar, they were the losers. 93 So he turned away from them and said: People, I have conveyed to you my lord’s messages and advised you. So how would I grieve for a kafirun people? 94 And we did not send into a village any prophet but we took its people with suffering and adversity; perhaps they would implore. 95 Then we changed in place of the evil deed the good until they pardoned and said: Adversity and weal touched our fathers. So we took them suddenly while they did not perceive. 96 And had the people of the villages believed and feared we would have opened upon them blessings from the sky and the Earth but they accused of lying. So we took them for what they used to earn. 97 Did then the people of the villages feel secure that our horribleness would come to them at night while they were asleep? 98 And did the people of the villages feel secure that our horribleness would come to them in daylight while they were playing? 99 Did they then feel safe from Allah’s deception? But none feels safe from Allah’s deception but the losing people. 100 And did it not guide for those who inherit the land after its people that had we willed we would have hit them for their sins and we seal their hearts, so they do not hear? 101 Those villages--we relate to you from their news. And their messengers came to them with the proofs but they would not believe in what they had called a lie before. Thus Allah seals the hearts of the kafirun. 102 And we did not find any covenant for most of them. And indeed we found most of them fasiqun. 103 Then we sent after them Musa with our signs to Fir’awn and his chiefs. But they wronged them. So see how the result of the corrupters was. 104 And Musa said: Fir’awn, I am a messenger from the lord of the ‘alamin. 105 Worthy that I do not say about Allah but the truth. I have come to you with a proof from your lord so send the Banu Isra’il with me. 106 He said: If you have come with a sign then bring it if you are of the truthful. 107 So he threw his staff and behold, it is an obvious snake. 108 And he withdrew his hand and behold, it is white to the observers. 109 The chiefs of Fir’awn’s people said: This is a learned magician. 110 He wants to expel you from your land so what do you command? 111 They said: Defer him and his brother and send gatherers into the cities. 112 They will bring you every learned magician. 113 And the magicians came to Fir’awn. They said: We have a wage if we are the winners. 114 He said: Yes and you are of the muqarrabun. 115 They said: Musa, whether you throw and whether we are the throwing? 116 He said: Throw. Then when they threw they bewitched the eyes of the people and frightened them and came with great magic. 117 And we inspired Musa: Throw your staff, and behold, it grabs what they delude. 118 So the truth fell and what they were doing became futile. 119 So they were defeated there and they veered abject. 120 And the magicians were thrown doing sujud. 121 They said: We have believed in the lord of the ‘alamin, 122 Musa’s and Harun’s lord. 123 Fir’awn said: You have believed in him before I give you permission. This is a deception you have made in the city to expel its people from it. But you will know. 124 I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides then I will crucify you all. 125 They said: We are veering to our lord. 126 And you do not take revenge on us except that we believed in our lord’s signs when they came to us. Our lord, empty patience upon us and cause us to die as Muslims. 127 And the chiefs of Fir’awn’s people said: Will you leave Musa and his people that they may corrupt in the land and he leave you and your gods? He said: We shall massacre their sons and let their women live and we are despots above them. 128 Musa said to his people: Seek aid from Allah and be patient. The land is Lah’s. He causes whom he wills of his slaves to inherit it. And the result is for the fearers. 129 They said: We were harmed before you come to us and after what you came to us. He said: Perhaps your lord will destroy your enemy and appoint you as successors in the land and see how you do. 130 And we took Fir’awn’s family with the years and the shortage of fruits; perhaps they will remember. 131 But when the good came to them they said: This is ours. And if an evil strikes them they ascribe an evil omen to Musa and him with him. Indeed, their evil omen is only with Allah but most of them do not know. 132 And they said: Whatever you bring us of a sign to bewitch us with, we are not believers in you. 133 So we sent upon them the Flood and the locusts and the lice and the frogs and the blood as detailed signs but they were arrogant and were a criminal people. 134 And when the rijz fell upon them they said: Musa, invoke your lord for us by what he has covenanted with you. If you remove the rijz from us we will believe in you and we will send the Banu Isra’il with you. 135 But when we removed the rijz from them to a term they reach behold, they renege. 136 So we took vengeance on them and drowned them in the sea because they called our signs a lie and were heedless of them. 137 And we made the people who were found weak inherit the rising places of the land and its setting places which we had blessed. And your lord’s best word was fulfilled for the Banu Isra’il because they were patient. And we destroyed what Fir’awn and his people used to make and what they used to build up. 138 And we crossed the sea with the Banu Isra’il. Then they came upon a people devoting themselves to idols of theirs. They said: Musa, make us a god like what gods they have. He said: You are ignorant people. 139 These, destroyed is what they are in and vain what they used to do. 140 He said: Shall I seek a god for you other than Allah while he has preferred you to the ‘alamin? 141 And when we saved you from Fir’awn’s family, afflicting you with the evil of torture, massacring your sons and letting your women live. And in that there is a great affliction from your lord. 142 And we made an appointment with Musa for 30 nights and completed them with ten. So his lord’s appointed time was completed, 40 nights. And Musa said to his brother Harun: Substitute for me among my people and reform and do not follow the way of the corrupters. 143 And when Musa came to our appointed time and his lord spoke to him. He said: Lord, show me that I may look at you. He said: You will not see me but look at the mountain. If its place abides you will see me. But when his lord manifested to the mountain he made it crushed and Musa fell stunned. And when he came to he said: Praise be to you! I have repented to you and I am the first of the believers. 144 He said: Musa, I have chosen you over people with my messages and with my words. So take what I have given you and be of the grateful. 145 And we wrote for him in the tablets-- of everything an exhortation and an explanation for everything. So take them with strength and command your people to take the best of them. I shall show you the home of the fasiqun. 146 I shall turn from my signs those who are arrogant in the land without right. And if they see every sign they will not believe in it. And if they see the way of rectitude they will not take it as a way, and if they see the way of allurement they will take it as a way. That is because they have called our verses a lie and were heedless of them. 147 And those who have called our verses and the meeting of the hereafter a lie, their deeds have become worthless. Are they recompensed except for what they used to do? 148 And Musa’s people took a calf from their ornaments after him--a body having lowing. Did they not see that it does not speak to them or guide them to a way? They took it and were wrongdoers. 149 And when it had fallen into their hands and they saw that they had strayed they said: If our lord does not have mercy on us and forgive us we shall be of the losers. 150 And when Musa returned to his people angry, sorry, he said: Miserable was what you substituted for me after me. Did you hurry your lord’s affair? And he threw the tablets and took his brother by the head dragging him to him. He said: Mother’s son, the people found me weak and were about to kill me. So do not cause the enemies to rejoice over me and do not put me with the wrongdoing people. 151 He said: Lord, forgive me and my brother and admit us into your mercy. And you are the most merciful of the merciful. 152 Those who took the calf, anger from their lord will get them and humiliation in the dunya life. And thus do we recompense the fabricators. 153 And those who have done the evil deeds then repented after them and believed, your lord after them is a forgiver, merciful. 154 And when the anger had subsided from Musa he took the tablets, and in their transcript is guidance and mercy for those who are afraid of their lord. 155 And Musa chose from his people 70 men for our appointment. And when the tremor took them he said: Lord, had you willed you would have destroyed them before and me. Would you destroy us for what the fools among us have done? It was nothing but your fitnah. You misguide therewith whom you will and guide whom you will. You are our protector so forgive us and have mercy on us and you are the best of the forgiving. 156 And write good for us in this dunya and in the hereafter. We have turned to you. He said: My torture, I afflict therewith whom I will and my mercy has encompassed everything. So I shall write it for those who fear and give zakat and those who believe in our verses. 157 Those who follow the messenger, the ummi prophet, whom they find written with them in the Torah and the Injil. He commands them kindness and forbids them baseness and declares lawful for them the good things and declares unlawful for them the bad and lays their burden from them and the shackles that were on them. So those who have believed in him and aided him and helped him and followed the light that was sent down with him, those are the successful. 158 Say: People, I am Allah’s messenger to you all, the one whose is the dominion of the skies and the Earth. There is no god but him. He vivifies and causes to die. So believe in Allah and his messenger, the ummi prophet, the one who believes in Allah and his words, and follow him; perhaps you will be guided. 159 And among Musa’s people is a nation guiding with truth and thereby they do justice. 160 And we cut them into 12 tribes, nations. And we inspired Musa when his people asked him for a drink: Strike the stone with your staff. Then 12 springs spouted from it. All people knew their drinking place. And we shaded the clouds over them and sent down the manna and the quail upon them. Eat of good things what we have provided you. And they did not wrong us but they were wronging themselves. 161 And when it was said to them: Dwell in this village and eat from it where you have willed and say: Alleviation, and enter the gate doing sujud. We shall forgive you your sins. We shall increase the good-doers. 162 But those who wronged among them changed speech other than that which was said to them. So we sent upon them rijz from the sky because they were wrongdoing. 163 And ask them about the village that was present by the sea when they transgress concerning the Sabbath, when their whales come to them on their Sabbath day as sails, and on a day they do not keep the Sabbath they do not come to them. Thus do we test them because they were acting immorally. 164 And when a nation of them said: Why do you exhort a people whom Allah is destroying or torturing with severe torture? They said: As an excuse to your lord and perhaps they will fear. 165 So when they forgot what they had been reminded with we saved those who forbid evil and we took those who wronged with miserable torture because they were acting immorally. 166 So when they were insolent about what they had been forbidden, we said to them: Be contemptible monkeys. 167 And when your lord announced he would send upon them to the day of resurrection him who would impose upon them the evil of torture. Your lord is the quick in punishment and he is a forgiver, merciful. 168 And he cut them as nations in the Earth. Of them are the righteous and of them without that. And we tested them with the good deeds and the evil; perhaps they will return. 169 Then after them descendants succeeded who inherited the Book, taking the accident of this nearer one and saying: We shall be forgiven. And if an accident the like of it comes to them they take it. Was the covenant of the Book not taken upon them that they should not say about Allah but the truth and they have studied what is in it? And the home of the hereafter is better for those who fear. Do you then not comprehend? 170 And those who take hold of the Book and have performed the salat, we do not waste the wage of the reformers. 171 And when we raised the mountain above them as though it were an awning and they thought that it would fall on them. Take what we have given you with strength and remember what is in it; perhaps you will fear. 172 And when your lord took from the Banu Adam, from their backs, their offspring and made them testify against themselves. Am I not your lord? They said: Yes, we have testified. Lest you should say on the day of resurrection: We were unaware of this. 173 Or you should say: Our fathers only associated before and we were offspring after them. Will you then destroy us for what the nullifiers did? 174 And thus do we detail the verses and perhaps they will return. 175 And read to them the news of the one whom we gave our verses to and he sloughed from them so the Devil followed him and was of the seduced. 176 And had we willed we would have raised him with them but he adhered to the Earth and followed his desire. So his similitude is like the similitude of the dog. If you charge against it, it pants or you leave it, it pants. That is the similitude of the people who called our verses a lie. So tell the story; perhaps they will ponder. 177 Bad as an illustration was the people who called our verses a lie and would wrong themselves. 178 Whom Allah guides, he is the guided and those he misguides, those, they are the losers. 179 And we have created for Jahannam many of jinn and man. They have hearts they do not comprehend with and they have eyes they do not see with. And they have ears they do not hear with. Those are like cattle, rather, they are more astray. Those, they are the heedless. 180 And Lah’s are the finest names so invoke him by them. And leave those who dispute concerning his names. They will be recompensed for what they used to do. 181 And from those we created is a nation who guide with the truth and therewith they act justly. 182 And those who have called our verses a lie, we shall lure them from where they do not know. 183 And I dictate to them. My trick is solid. 184 Have they not pondered? There is no madness in their companion. He is nothing but an obvious nadhir. 185 Have they not looked in the kingdom of the skies and the Earth and what Allah created of a thing and that perhaps their term has approached? So in what hadith after it do they believe? 186 He whom Allah misguides has no guide. And he leaves them wandering blindly in their oppression. 187 They ask you about the Hour, when is its mooring? Say: Its knowledge is only with my lord. None reveals it for its time but him. It was heavy in the skies and the Earth. It does not come to you but suddenly. They ask you as though you were hospitable about it. Say: Its knowledge is only with Allah but most people do not know. 188 Say: I do not possess benefit or harm for myself except what Allah has willed. And had I been a knower of the ghayb I would have demanded much of the good and the evil would not have touched me. I am nothing but a nadhir and a bearer of good news for people who believe. 189 He is the one who created you from one soul and made from it its husband that he might dwell to her. But when he covers her she carried a light load and passed with it. But when she added weight they two invoked Allah, their lord: If you give us a righteous one, we will be of the grateful. 190 But when he gave them a righteous one they made for him partners in what he gave them. But exalted be Allah above what they associate! 191 Do they associate what does not create anything and they are created? 192 And they are not able to help them nor do they help themselves. 193 And if you call them to the guidance, they do not follow you. It is equal to you whether you have called them or you are silent. 194 Those whom you invoke instead of Allah are slaves the like of you. So invoke them, let them respond to you, if you are truthful. 195 Do they have feet to walk with or do they have hands to wipe out with or do they have eyes to see with or do they have ears to hear with? Say: Invoke your partners then scheme against me and do not give me respite. 196 My protector is Allah, the one who has sent down the book. And he protects the righteous. 197 And those you invoke instead of him are not able to help you nor do they help themselves. 198 And if you call them to the guidance they do not hear. And you see them looking at you and they do not see. 199 Hold the pardon and command with the custom and turn away from the ignorant. 200 And if an incitement to evil from the Devil incites you, seek protection with Allah. He is a hearer, learned. 201 Those who have feared when a wanderer from the Devil has touched them have remembered and behold, they see. 202 And their brothers spread them out in the allurement then they do not curtail. 203 And when you have not brought them a sign they have said: Why have you not chosen it? Say: I only follow what I am inspired with from my lord. This is insights from your lord and guidance and mercy for people who believe. 204 And when the Quran has been read, listen to it and hearken; perhaps you will be shown mercy. 205 And remember your lord in yourself in obtestation and fear and without speaking loudly from speech in the early morning and the late afternoons.
