S 71 (71) Nuh

1 We sent Nuh to his people. 2 Warn your people before painful torture comes to them. He said: People, I am an obvious nadhir to you. 3 Worship Allah and fear him and obey me. 4 He forgives you your sins and postpones you to a designated term. Allah’s term when it comes is not postponed, had you known. 5 He said: Lord, I have called my people night and day. 6 But my call has not increased them except in flight. 7 And every time I called them that you might forgive them they put their fingers in their ears and covered themselves with their garments and persisted and were arrogant. 8 Then I called them publicly. 9 Then I declared to them and confided in them 10 And I said: Ask for forgiveness of your lord. He was a forgiver. 11 To send the sky upon you in abundance 12 And to assist you with monies and sons and to make jannat for you and to make rivers for you. 13 What is wrong with you, not hoping for dignity for Lah? 14 And he created you in phases. 15 Have you not seen how Allah created seven skies in tiers 16 And made the moon therein a light and made the sun a lamp? 17 And Allah caused you to sprout from the Earth as vegetation. 18 Then he returns you to it and brings you out as an ejection. 19 And Allah made the Earth a carpet for you 20 That you may insert broad ways thereof. 21 Nuh said: Lord, they have disobeyed me and followed one whose money has not increased him and his child except as loss. 22 And they have deceived greatly. 23 And they have said: Do not leave your gods and do not leave Wadd and Suwa and Yaguth and Ya’uq and Nasr. 24 And they have misguided many. And do not increase the wrongdoers except in error. 25 Because of their sins they were drowned and were made to enter the fire. And they did not find for them helpers instead of Allah. 26 And Nuh said: Lord, do not leave on the Earth any of the kafirun as an inhabitant. 27 You, if you leave them they will misguide your slaves and not beget except a licentious man, an ingrate. 28 Lord, forgive me and my parents and him who has entered my house as a believer and the believing men and the believing women. And do not increase the wrongdoers except in destruction.
