1 When the sun has been rolled up 2 And when the stars have become muddy 3 And when the mountains have rolled around 4 And when the pregnant camels have been neglected 5 And when the wild animals have been gathered 6 And when the seas have blazed 7 And when the souls have been paired 8 And when the maw’udah has been asked 9 Which sin it was killed for. 10 And when the sheets have been published 11 And when the sky has been scraped off 12 And when the Jahim has been in a frenzy 13 And when the Jannah has been brought near 14 A soul has known what it has brought. 15 But I do not swear by the Khunnas 16 Which withdraw, which sweep 17 And the night when ‘as’asa 18 And the dawn when it has breathed. 19 It is the speech of a noble messenger, 20 A possessor of power with the possessor of the throne, distinguished, 21 Obeyed there, trustworthy. 22 And your companion is not jinni-possessed. 23 And he saw him on the clear horizon. 24 And he is not avaricious with the ghayb. 25 And it is not the speech of a rajim devil. 26 So where are you going? 27 It is nothing but a dhikr for the ‘alamin. 28 For him among you who wills to be straight. 29 But you do not will except that Allah, lord of the ‘alamin, wills.
