1 By the dawn, 2 By ten nights, 3 By the odd and the even, 4 By the night when it goes. 5 Is there in that an oath for one with intellect? 6 Have you not seen how your lord did with Ad? 7 Columned Iram, 8 Which the like of them had not been created in the countries. 9 And Thamud, who bored the rocks in the valley. 10 And Fir’awn, the possessor of stakes, 11 Who transgressed in the countries 12 And increased therein corruption. 13 So your lord poured over them a scourge of torture. 14 Your lord is with the lookout. 15 And as for man, when his lord has tested him and honoured him and graced him he says: My lord has honoured me. 16 And as for when he has tested him and restricted for him his provision he says: My lord has demeaned me. 17 Not at all! Rather you do not honour the orphan. 18 And you do not urge the feeding of the poor man. 19 And you consume inheritance greedily as food. 20 And you love money with much love. 21 Not at all! When the Earth has been crushed, crushing, crushing 22 And your lord and the angel has come, rank, rank. 23 And that day Jahannam was brought. That day man remembers and how will he have the remembrance? 24 He says: Would that I had offered for my life! 25 So that day none tortures as his torture. 26 And none binds as his binding. 27 Reassured soul, 28 Return to your lord pleased, pleasing. 29 So enter among my slaves 30 And enter my jannah.
