1 I do not swear by this country. 2 And you are absolved in this country. 3 By a begetter and what he begot. 4 We have created man in kabd. 5 Does he think that none will have power over him? 6 He says: I have destroyed abundant money. 7 Does he think that none has seen him? 8 Have we not made him eyes 9 And a tongue and lips 10 And guided him to the two plateaus? 11 But he has not braved Al-Aqabah. 12 And what will make you know what Al-Aqabah is? 13 The freeing of a neck 14 Or feeding on a day of dearth. 15 An orphan of kindred 16 Or a needy person of destitution. 17 Then he was of those who have believed and have enjoined one another to patience and have enjoined one another to clemency. 18 Those are the companions of the right hand. 19 And those who have disbelieved in our verses, they are the companions of the left hand. 20 Upon them is a locked fire.
