A Short Note Regarding Jibril

It is well known that Muslims will say: Salla Allahu 'alayhi wa-sallam (Allah pray for him and salute him) after mentioning Allah's boss. But there is a hadith in which this formula is used after speaking of Jibril.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جُنْدَبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ احْتَبَسَ جِبْرِيلُ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَتِ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ أَبْطَأَ عَلَيْهِ شَيْطَانُهُ‏.‏ فَنَزَلَتْ ‏{‏وَالضُّحَى * وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا سَجَى * مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلَى‏}

Narrated Jundab bin `Abdullah:

Gabriel did not come to the Prophet (for some time) and so one of the Quraish women said, "His Satan has deserted him." So came the Divine Revelation: "By the forenoon And by the night When it is still! Your Lord (O Muhammad) has neither Forsaken you Nor hated you." (93.1-3)

In the Quran we read:

S 33:43 He is the one who prays for you and his angels to bring you out of the darknesses into the light and he was merciful to the believers.

S 33:56 Allah and his angels pray for the prophet. Those who have believed, pray for him and salute him.

Jibril is supposedly an angel and they, along with Allah, pray for Muslims and Allah's boss. Muslims will say that Allah is sending down blessing. If so, why might a Muslim want to invoke Allah's blessing on an angel?
