Allah's Inexhaustible Words

S 18:109 Say: If the sea were ink for my lord’s words, the sea would be exhausted before my lord’s words were exhausted, even if we brought the like of it as aid.

What are his 'lord's' words? Quran? Quran can be printed with very little ink. Nowhere near a sea's worth. If other books, what are they? Where are they? And shouldn't the Earth be swamped with them? Does it mean that Allah's continually talking? As the sea would be exhausted before Allah's words were exhausted, would its words be exhausted at some point? And how might the sea be exhausted?

If all of this is what the author is directed to say, why does it say 'we'? Might this 'we' be Allah's boss? He used the word of himself. Might he need to aid Allah? Might 'we' include the other Muslims? Might Molly and his men bring the like of it as aid? Might they need to aid Allah?

S 31:27 And were what is on the Earth of a tree pens and the sea spreading it after it seven seas, Allah’s words would not be exhausted. Allah is mighty, wise.

This is a poorer version of the preceding. Like a first draft? The sea spreading what? It can't be a tree, which is of feminine grammatical gender in Arabic and the pronominal suffix is masculine. How might the sea spread 'it'?
