A brief look at the terms used in the Quran and non-Quranic ahadith.

S 69:44-47 And had he fabricated some speeches against us We would have taken him by his right hand. Then we would have cut off his aorta. Then none of you would prevent it.

The term used is watin. Almaany defines it as ‘aorta’. Translation and Meaning of وتين

Now let’s look at a non-Quranic hadith: Narrated `Aisha:

The Prophet (ﷺ) in his ailment in which he died, used to say, "O `Aisha! I still feel the pain caused by the food I ate at Khaibar, and at this time, I feel as if my aorta is being cut from that poison." https://sunnah.com/bukhari/64/450

The term used is abhar. Almaany defines it thus:

- Main artery through which blood is carried from the left side of the heart - aorta

- Part of an object that is furthest from the front

- Rear part of the human or animal body from the neck to the buttocks

- back; spine
