Charity?

S 58:12 Those who have believed, when you have consulted the messenger privately offer in the presence of your confidential talk a charity. That is better for you and purer. But if you have not found then Allah is a forgiver, merciful.

The fee demanded for a private consultation cannot be called 'charity' as charity is something voluntary. If you cannot pay however Allah will forgive you (!)

The founder of Islam is allowing private consultations, and charging for them. In verse 9 we read:

Those who have believed, when you have held confidential talk do not hold confidential talk for wrong and oppressing and disobedience to the messenger, and hold confidential talk for righteousness and taqwa. And fear Allah whom you are gathered to.

And in verse 10:

Confidential talk is only from the Devil to grieve those who have believed but he does not harm them at all except with Allah’s permission. And in Allah let the believers put their trust.

Here a private consultation is something evil.
