Clouds

S 2:57 And we shaded the clouds over you and we sent down the manna and the quail upon you. Eat of good things what we have provided you. And they did not wrong us but they were wronging themselves.

In S 5:5 we read: " Today have the good things been permitted for you". But the Israelites were eating good things then.

S 2:164 In the creation of the skies and the Earth and the difference of night and day and the ships which run in the sea with what benefits people and what Allah has sent down from the sky of water and has vivified the Earth therewith after its death and has spread thereon of every beast and the change of winds and the clouds subjected between the sky and the Earth are signs for people who comprehend.

S 2:210 Are they waiting except for Allah to come to them in shadows of the clouds, and the angels, and the matter was preordained? And to Allah the matters return.

This is an allusion to Jesus' returning on the clouds. Compare with Luke 21:27 "And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory." and Revelation 1:7 "Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen."

S 7:57 And he is the one who sends the winds as good news in front of his mercy until when they have carried a heavy cloud. We drove it to a dead country then we sent down with it water and we brought out with it all fruits. Thus we bring out the dead; perhaps you will remember.

There are ahadith in which Allah's boss shows fear of clouds. See below.

S 7:160 And we cut them into 12 tribes, nations. And we inspired Musa when his people asked him for a drink: Strike the stone with your staff. Then 12 springs spouted from it. All people knew their drinking place. And we shaded the clouds over them and sent down the manna and the quail upon them. Eat of good things what we have provided you. And they did not wrong us but they were wronging themselves.

S 13:12 He is the one who shows you the lightning, a fear and greed and creates the heavy clouds.

S 24:40 Or like darknesses in a deep sea. A wave above it, a wave above it covers it, a cloud, darknesses. Some of them above others. When he has taken his hand out he has barely seen it. And he whom Allah has not made light for has no light.

S 24:43 Have you not seen that Allah drives clouds then unites between them then makes them a cumulus cloud then you see the rain come out from its midst? And he sends down from the sky, from mountains therein, hail and strikes therewith whom he wills and averts it from whom he wills. The flash of its lightning nearly takes away the sight.

Hail is from mountains in the sky and hailstones are missiles? Hailstones strike indiscriminately. Lightning nearly blinds?

S 25:25 And a day the sky is split with the clouds and the angels were sent down in a tanzil.

S 27:88 And you see the mountains thinking them solid while they pass as the passing of the clouds. Allah’s production, the one who perfected everything. He is an expert in what you do.

Perfected everything? Was everything once imperfect and Allah then perfected it? Was it its own work that it perfected? When?

S 30:48 Allah is the one who sends the winds and they stimulate clouds and he spreads them in the sky how he wills and makes them fragments so you see the drizzle come out from their midst. Then when he has struck therewith whom he wills of his slaves behold, they rejoice.

Wind stimulates clouds? According to this NASA article:

Clouds are created when water vapor, an invisible gas, turns into liquid water droplets. These water droplets form on tiny particles, like dust, that are floating in the air. https://climatekids.nasa.gov/cloud-formation/

Fragments of clouds?

S 35:9 And Allah is the one who has sent the winds and they rouse clouds and we have driven them to a dead country and we have vivified therewith the Earth after its death. Thus is the resurrection.

S 46:24 So when they saw it, an exhibitor approaching their valleys, they said: An exhibitor bringing us rain. Rather, it is what you asked to hasten, a wind wherein is painful torture

S 52:44 And if they see a fragment falling from the sky they say: Heaped clouds.

S 56:69 Is it you who have sent it down from the nimbuses or are we the senders down?

S 78:14 And we sent down thajjaj water from the mu’sirat

'A’isha said, ''I never saw God’s Messenger laugh to such an extent that I could see his uvula, he would only smile ; and when he saw clouds or wind his face showed signs [of fear].” (Bukhari and Muslim.)

'A'isha, the wife of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), reported:

I never saw Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) laugh to such an extent that I could see his uvula-whereas he used to smile only-and when he saw dark clouds or wind, (the signs of fear) were depicted on his face. I said: Messenger of Allah, I find people being happy when they ace the dark cloud in the hope that it would bring rain, but I find that when you see that (the cloud) there is an anxiety on your face. He said: 'A'isha, I am afraid that there may be a calamity in it, for a people was afflicted with wind, when the people saw the calamity they said:" It is a cloud which would give us rain" (Qur'an. xlvi. 24).

‘Aishah narrated that when the Prophet (ﷺ) saw a cloud approaching from any horizon, he would stop what he was doing, even if he was praying, and turn to face it, then he would say:

“Allahumma inna na’udhu bika min sharri ma ursila bihi (O Allah, we seek refuge with You from the evil of that with which it is sent).” Then if it rained he would say: “Allahumma sayyiban nafi’an (O Allah, a beneficial rain),” two or three times. And if Allah dispelled it and it did not rain, he would praise Allah for that.
