S 2:102 And they followed what the devils read over the dominion of Sulayman. And Sulayman did not disbelieve but the devils disbelieved, teaching people magic and what was sent down to the two angels in Babylon, Harut and Marut. And they do not teach anyone until they say: We are only fitnah, so do not disbelieve. But they learn from them what separates therewith man from his husband. And they do not harm therewith anyone but with Allah’s permission. And they learn what harms them and it does not profit them. And they knew whoever buys it, has no share in the hereafter. And miserable is what they sold themselves therewith, had they known.
S 2:191 And kill them where you have found them and expel them from where they have expelled you, and fitnah is severer than killing. And do not fight them at the Sacred Mosque until they fight you in it. Then if they fight you, kill them. Thus is the recompense of the kafirun.
S 2:193 And fight them until there is no fitnah and the religion is Lah’s. Then if they cease there is no oppression except against the wrongdoers.
S 2:217 They ask you about the sacred month, fighting in it. Say: Fighting in it is big and blocking from the way of Allah, and kufr in him, and the Sacred Mosque, and expulsion of its people from it, is bigger with Allah. And fitnah is bigger than killing. And they still fight you until they bring you back from your religion if they can. And he who bounces back among you from his religion then dies while he is a kafir, those--their deeds have become worthless in the dunya and the hereafter. And those are the companions of the fire, they abide indefinitely therein.
S 3:7 He is the one who sent down upon you the book; of it are muhkamat verses. They are the mother of the book and others are mutashabihat. As for those in whose hearts is aberration, they follow what he copied from it, seeking fitnah and seeking its interpretation. And none knows its interpretation but Allah. And the firm in knowledge say: We have believed in it. All is from our lord. And none remembers except the possessors of albab.
S 4:91 You will find others wanting to be safe from you and safe from their people. Every time they have returned to fitnah they have been overturned in it. So if they have not detached from you and offered you peace and quit their hands, take them and kill them wherever you have seized them. And those--we have made for you a clear authority against them.
S 5:71 And they thought that there would be no fitnah so they went blind and deaf. Then Allah repented for them then they went blind and deaf, many of them. And Allah is a seer of what they do.
S 8:25 And fear fitnah that does not hit those who have wronged among you especially. And know that Allah is the severe in punishment.
S 8:28 And know that your monies and your children are fitnah. And that Allah--with him is a great wage.
S 8:39 And fight them until there is no fitnah and all the religion is Lah’s. But if they cease, Allah is a seer of what they do.
S 8:73 And those who have disbelieved, they are one another’s protectors. Except you do it there will be fitnah in the land and big corruption.
S 9:47 Had they gone out among you they would not have increased you except in craziness and they would have suffered losses in your midst seeking fitnah for you. And among you those who listen to them. And Allah is learned in the wrongdoers.
S 9:48 They sought fitnah before and flipped the matters for you until the truth came and Allah’s command appeared while they were disliking.
S 9:49 And among them is he who says: Give me permission and do not try me. Indeed, they have fallen into fitnah. And Jahannam is surrounding the kafirun.
S 10:85 Then they said: In Allah do we put our trust. Our lord, do not make us fitnah for the wrongdoing people.
S 17:60 And when we said to you: Your lord has encompassed people. And we did not make the dream which we showed you but fitnah for people and the cursed tree in the Quran. And we frighten them but it does not increase them except in big oppression.
S 21:35 Every soul tastes death. And we test you with evil and good as fitnah. And to us are you returned.
S 21:111 And I do not know; perhaps it is fitnah for you and enjoyment for a time.
S 22:11 And among people is he who worships Allah on an edge. And if good befalls him he is calm with it but if fitnah befalls him he turns on his face. He has lost the dunya and the hereafter. That--it is the obvious loss.
S 22:53 To make what the Devil throws fitnah for those in whose hearts is disease and their hearts are hard. And the wrongdoers are in far schism.
S 24:63 Do not make the messenger’s call among you like one another’s call. Allah knows those who slip away among you to a shelter. Let those who go against his command beware lest fitnah strikes them or painful torture strikes them.
S 25:20 And we did not send before you any of the commissaries but they would eat food and walk in the markets. And we have made some of you a fitnah for others. Will you be patient? And your lord was a seer.
S 29:10 And among people are those who say: We have believed in Allah. But when he has been harmed in Allah he has made the people’s fitnah like Allah’s torture. And if victory comes from your lord they will say: We were with you. Is Allah not a knower of what is in the chests of the ‘alamin?
S 33:14 And had it been entered upon them from its quarters then they would have been asked for fitnah, they would have given it and would not have hesitated concerning it except a little.
S 37:63 We made it a fitnah for the wrongdoers.
S 39:49 So when harm has touched man he has invoked us then when we have bestowed grace upon him from us he has said: I have only been given it for knowledge. Rather, it is fitnah but most of them do not know.
S 54:27 We are sending the camel cow as fitnah for them so watch them and be patient.
S 60:5 Our lord, do not make us fitnah for those who have disbelieved and forgive us, our lord. You, you are the mighty, the wise.
S 64:15 Your monies and your children are only fitnah and Allah, with him is a great wage.
S 74:31 And we have not made the companions of the fire but angels. And we have not made their number except as fitnah for those who have disbelieved that those who were given the Book may be certain and that those who have believed may increase in faith and that those who were given the Book and the believers may not doubt and that those in whose hearts is disease and the kafirun may say: What did Allah want by this example? Thus Allah misguides whom he wills and guides whom he wills. And none knows your lord’s troops but him. And it is nothing but a remembrance for the human being.
