Do the denizens of the Jannah and of hell remain in those places forever?
S 6:128 And on a day he gathers them all: Company of jinn, you have deemed excessive of men. And their protectors among men said: Our lord, some of us have enjoyed others and we have reached our term which you postponed for us. He said: The fire is your shelter, abiding therein indefinitely except what Allah has willed. Your lord is wise, learned.
S 11:106-108 And as for those who were wretched, in the fire. Theirs therein is exhalation and inhalation. / Abiding indefinitely therein for as long as the skies and the Earth have lasted except what your lord has willed. Your lord is a doer of what he wants. / And as for those who were happy, in the Jannah. Abiding indefinitely therein for as long as the skies and the Earth have lasted except what your lord has willed, a gift not cut off.
In the first verse, the jinn are to remain in hell for apparently forever except "what Allah has willed."
In the other verses, those in hell remain there for as long as the skies and the Earth have lasted; what about after they are no more? They remain there except "what your lord has willed".
Might Allah take people out of these places? In the case of hell at least, there would be Muslims who would be taken out.
Narrated `Imran bin Husain:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Some people will be taken out of the Fire through the intercession of Muhammad they will enter Paradise and will be called Al-Jahannamiyin (the Hell Fire people).
We also read of 70 women from the people of the fire.
It was narrated from Abu Umamah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“There is no one whom Allah will admit to Paradise but Allah will marry him to seventy-two wives, two from houris and seventy from his inheritance from the people of Hell, all of whom will have desirable front passages and he will have a male member that never becomes flaccid (i.e., soft and limp).’”
Can it be ruled out that Allah might take people out of the Jannah and put them in hell?
