S 2:218 Those who have believed and those who have emigrated and waged jihad in the way of Allah, those hope for Allah’s mercy. And Allah is a forgiver, merciful.

S 3:142 Or did you think that you would enter the Jannah while Allah had not yet known those who had waged jihad among you and known the patient?

S 4:95 Not equal are the sitters among the believers, other than the disabled, and those who do jihad in the way of Allah with their monies and their souls. Allah has preferred those who do jihad with their monies and their souls to the sitters in degree. And Allah has promised the best to all. And Allah has preferred those who do jihad to the sitters with a great wage.

S 5:35 Those who have believed, fear Allah and seek the means to him and wage jihad in his way. Perhaps you will succeed.

S 5:54 Those who have believed, he who turns away among you from his religion, Allah will bring a people he loves and who love him, humble towards the believers, stern towards the kafirun, waging jihad in the way of Allah and not fearing criticism of a critic. That is Allah’s favour. He gives it to whom he wills. And Allah is wide, learned.

S 8:72 Those who have believed and emigrated and waged jihad with their monies and their souls in the way of Allah and those who have lodged and helped, those--they are one another’s protectors. And those who have believed and have not emigrated, you do not have any of their protection from anything until they emigrate. And if they have sought your help in the religion, upon you is the help except against a people between you and them is a covenant. And Allah is a seer of what you do.

S 8:74 And those who have believed and emigrated and waged jihad in the way of Allah and those who have lodged and helped, those are the believers truly. Theirs is forgiveness and a generous provision.

S 8:75 And those who believed afterwards and emigrated and waged jihad with you, those are of you. And the possessors of wombs are nearer to one another in Allah’s book. Allah is learned in everything.

S 9:16 Or did you think that you would be left when Allah did not know those who waged jihad among you and they did not take a confidant instead of Allah and his messenger and the believers? And Allah is an expert in what you do.

S 9:19 Have you made the supplying of water of the pilgrim and the maintenance of the Sacred Mosque like one who has believed in Allah and the last day and has waged jihad in the way of Allah? They are not equal with Allah. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.

S 9:20 Those who have believed and have migrated and have waged jihad in the way of Allah with their monies and their souls are greater in degree with Allah. And those are the successful.

S 9:41 Stampede, light and heavy, and wage jihad with your monies and your souls in the way of Allah. That is better for you if you know.

S 9:44 Those who believe in Allah and the last day do not ask you for permission to wage jihad with their monies and their souls. And Allah is learned in the fearers.

S 9:73 Prophet, wage jihad on the kuffar and and the hypocrites and be harsh with them. And their shelter is Jahannam and miserable was the destiny.

S 9:81 Those remaining behind rejoiced in their seat, going against Allah’s messenger, and they disliked waging jihad with their monies and their souls in the way of Allah and they said: Do not stampede in the heat. Say: The fire of Jahannam is severer in heat. Had they comprehended.

S 9:86 And when a surah has been sent down: Believe in Allah and wage jihad with his messenger, the possessors of merit among them have asked you for permission and said: Leave us to be with those sitting.

S 9:88 But the messenger and those who believed with him waged jihad with their monies and their souls. And those, theirs are the good things and those, they are the successful.

S 16:110 Then your lord to those who had emigrated after what they had been tried then waged jihad and were patient. Your lord thereafter is a forgiver, merciful.

S 22:78 And wage jihad for Allah with his due jihad. He has selected you and has not put upon you in the religion any difficulty. The cult of your father Ibrahim. He named you Muslims before and in this, that the messenger may be a witness over you and you may be witnesses over people. So establish salat and give zakat and hang on to Allah. He is your mawla. So excellent was the mawla and excellent the helper.

S 25:52 So do not obey the kafirun, and wage big jihad on them with it.

S 29:6 And he who has waged jihad, he only wages jihad for himself. Allah is rich from the ‘alamin.

S 29:8 And we advised man goodness for his parents. And if they have waged jihad on you to make you associate with me what you have no knowledge of, do not obey them. To me is your return. Then I shall inform you of what you used to do.

S 29:69 And those who do jihad for us, we will guide them to our ways. And Allah is with the good-doers.

S 31:15 And if they have waged jihad on you to make you associate with me what you have no knowledge of, then do not obey them. And accompany them in the dunya decently and follow a way of him who has turned to me. Then to me is your return then I shall inform you of what you used to do.

S 47:31 And we will test you so that we know the mujahidin among you and the patient and test your news.

S 49:15 The believers are only those who have believed in Allah and his messenger then have not doubted and have waged jihad with their monies and themselves in the way of Allah. Those--they are the truthful.

S 61:11 Believing in Allah and his messenger and doing jihad in the way of Allah with your monies and your souls. That is better for you if you knew.

S 66:9 Prophet, wage jihad on the kuffar and the hypocrites and be harsh with them. And their dwelling is Jahannam and miserable was the destiny.

It was narrated that ‘Amr bin ‘Abasah said:

“I came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, which Jihad is best?’ He said: ‘(That of a man) whose blood is shed and his horse is wounded.’”

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:

"Whoever dies without having fought or thought of fighting, he dies on one of the branches of hypocrisy."
