In this short post we shall be looking at an inconsistency between the best hadith and a non-Quranic hadith.

S 2:144 It may be we see the turning of your face to the sky so we turn you to a qiblah that you will be pleased with. So turn your face towards the Sacred Mosque and wherever you are turn your faces towards it. And those who were given the Book know that it is the truth from their lord. And Allah is not unaware of what they do.

The author turns his face towards the sky.

Anas bin Malik (May Allah be pleased with him) said:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "How is it that some people raise their eyes towards the sky during As-Salat (the prayer)?" He stressed (this point) and added, "People must refrain from raising their eyes towards heaven in Salat (prayer), or else their sights will certainly be snatched away." [Al-Bukhari].

Were his eyes snatched?
