S 3:36 Then when she had laid her she said: Lord, I have laid her, a female. And Allah is a knower of what she had laid and the male is not like the female. And I have named her Maryam and I seek refuge for her in you and her offspring from the rajim Devil.

S 15:17 And we have guarded it from every rajim devil

S 15:34  He said: Then get out of it for you are rajim.

S 16:98 So when you have read the Quran seek refuge in Allah from the rajim Devil.

S 38:77 He said: So get out of it. You are rajim.

S 81:25 And it is not the speech of a rajim devil.

One Muslim custom is the Stoning of the Devil. The word rajim is similar to the word marjum 'stoned'. Could it be that rajim actually signified 'stoned' and reflects a pre-Islamic custom of stoning pillars designating devils?

Just for fun: If we change رحيم rahim for رجيم, we get rajim.

Allah throws stones from the sky at devils that try to listen to him. Probably the "throwing stones" is related.

"And We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with stars and have made [from] them what is thrown at the devils and have prepared for them the punishment of the Blaze."
