S 1:1 In the name of Allah, Al-Rahman, Al-Rahim.
S 1:3 Al-Rahman, Al-Rahim.
S 2:163 And your god is one god. There is no god but him, Al-Rahman, Al-Rahim.
S 13:30 Thus have we sent you into a nation. Nations have passed away before it that you may read to them that which we have inspired you with when they disbelieve in Al-Rahman. Say: He is my lord, there is no god but him. In him have I put my trust and to him is a repenting.
S 17:110 Say: Invoke Allah or invoke Al-Rahman. Whichever you invoke, his are the finest names. And do not speak loudly in your salat nor be silent therein and seek a way between that.
Regarding this verse, we read in Asbab al-Nuzul:
(Say (unto mankind): Cry unto Allah, or cry unto the Beneficent…) [17:110]. Said Ibn ‘Abbas: “One night in Mecca, The Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and give him peace, stood up for the night vigil prayer. He kept saying in his prostration: ‘O Beneficent, O Merciful!’ And so the idolaters said: ‘Muhammad used to call unto one Allah; now he is calling unto two gods: Allah and the Beneficent. We do not know of anyone by the name of the Beneficent except the beneficent of al-Yamamah (meaning Musaylimah the liar)’, and so Allah, exalted is He, revealed this verse”. Said Maymun ibn Mihran: “At the beginning of revelation, the Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and give peace, used to write ‘In Thy name, O Allah’ until this verse was revealed (Lo! It is from Solomon, and lo, it is: In the name of Allah the Beneficent, the Merciful) [27:30], after which he always wrote ‘In the name of Allah the Beneficent, the Merciful’. The Arab idolaters then commented: ‘We know this Merciful but who is the Beneficent?’ As a response, Allah, exalted is He, revealed this verse”. Said al-Dahhak: “The people of the Book said to the Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and give him peace: ‘You mention very little the Beneficent and yet Allah mentions this name in the Torah in abundance’. Allah, exalted is He, revealed this verse as a response to them”. (And thou (Muhammad), be not loud-voiced in thy worship nor yet silent therein, but follow a way between) [17:110]. Abu ‘Abd Allah Muhammad ibn Ibrahim ibn Muhammad ibn Yahya informed us> his father> Muhammad ibn Ishaq al-Thaqafi> ‘Abd Allah ibn Muti‘ and Ahmad ibn Mani‘> Hushaym> Abu Bishr> Sa‘id ibn Jubayr> Ibn ‘Abbas who said regarding the words of Allah, exalted is He (And thou (Muhammad), be not loud-voiced in thy worship nor yet silent therein…): “This verse was revealed while the Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and give him peace, was in hiding in Mecca. Whenever the unbelievers heard the Qur’an being recited, they reviled it and reviled the person who had brought it. Hence, Allah, glorious and majestic is He, said to His Prophet, Allah bless him and give him peace (And thou (Muhammad), be not loud-voiced in thy worship) i.e. upon reciting the Qur’an in prayer, lest the idolaters hear it and revile the Qur’an, (nor yet silent therein) such that your Companions do not hear you, (but follow a way between)”. https://www.altafsir.com/Tafasir.asp?tMadhNo=0&tTafsirNo=86&tSoraNo=17&tAyahNo=110&tDisplay=yes&UserProfile=0&LanguageId=2
S 19:18 She said: I take refuge in Al-Rahman from you, if you are fearing.
S 19:45 Father, I fear that torture from Al-Rahman will touch you, so you would be a protector for the Devil.
S 19:58 Those are the ones Allah graced of the prophets of Adam’s offspring and of him we carried with Nuh and of Ibrahim’s offspring and Isra’il and of those we guided and selected. When Al-Rahman’s verses are read to them they fell doing sujud and weeping.
S 19:61 Jannat of ‘Adn which Al-Rahman has promised his slaves in the ghayb. It was his promise having come.
S 19:69 Then we will spoil every party, those of them who are most severe against Al-Rahman in domineering.
S 19:75 Say: Those who were in error, let Al-Rahman give them an extension until when they see what they have been promised, either the torture or the Hour, then they will know who is worse in place and weaker in soldiery.
S 19:78 Has he come suddenly upon the ghayb or taken from Al-Rahman a covenant?
S 19:85 A day we gather the fearers to Al-Rahman as a delegation.
S 19:87 They do not possess intercession except him who has taken a covenant from Al-Rahman.
S 19:88 And they said: Al-Rahman has taken a child.
S 19:93 There is none in the skies and the Earth but he comes to Al-Rahman as a slave.
S 19:96 Those who have believed and have done the righteous deeds, Al-Rahman will make affection for them.
S 20:5 Al-Rahman ascended the throne.
S 20:90 And Harun had said to them before: People, you have only been tested by it and your lord is Al-Rahman so follow me and obey my command.
S 20:109 On that day intercession does not benefit except him whom Al-Rahman has given permission and has been pleased with speech for him.
S 21:26 And they said: Al-Rahman has taken a child. Praise be to him! Rather, honoured slaves.
S 21:36 And when those who have disbelieved see you they do not take you but as a quip. Is this the one who mentions your gods? And they are kafirun at the mention of Al-Rahman.
S 21:42 Say: Who will protect you in the night and the day from Al-Rahman? But they turn away from their lord’s dhikr
S 21:112 He said: Lord, judge in truth. And our lord is Al-Rahman, the one sought for help against what they attribute.
Why might Muslims have been seeking help against other deities? Or Isa?
S 25:59 The one who created the skies and the Earth and what is between them in six days then ascended over the Al-Rahman throne. So ask him, an expert.
S 25:60 And when it was said to them: Do sujud to Al-Rahman, they said: And what is Al-Rahman? Are we to do sujud to what you command us to? And it increased them in aversion.
S 25:63 And Al-Rahman’s slaves are those who walk on the Earth in embarrassment and when the ignorant have addressed them they have said: Peace.
Well, Muslims often are embarrassed.
S 26:5 And no new dhikr comes to them from Al-Rahman but they were turning away from it.
So was there another 'dhikr' that followed the Quran? See my posts: https://philhoraia.wixsite.com/website/post/people-of-the-dhikr-1 https://philhoraia.wixsite.com/website/post/people-of-the-dhikr https://philhoraia.wixsite.com/website/post/dhikr
S 27:30 It is from Sulayman and it is: In the name of Allah, Al-Rahman, Al-Rahim.
A book title?
S 36:11 You only warn him who has followed the dhikr and feared Al-Rahman in the ghayb. So give him good news of forgiveness and a generous wage.
Was the ghayb Allah's abode?
S 36:15 They said: You are nothing but human the like of us and Al-Rahman has not sent anything down. You are nothing but mendacious.
S 36:23 Shall I take gods instead of him? If Al-Rahman wants harm for me, their intercession does not avail me at all nor do they save me.
S 36:52 They said: Woe is us! Who has raised us from our bed? This is what Al-Rahman promised and the commissaries told the truth.
Is a commissary different from a messenger? If so, who was the commissary sent to England? And might one have been sent after the founder of Islam? If not, why is a different word used?
S 41:2 A tanzil from Al-Rahman, Al-Rahim,
S 43:19 And they have made the angels, those who are Al-Rahman’s slaves, females. Did they witness their creation? Their testimony will be written and they asked.
S 43:20 And they have said: Had Al-Rahman willed we would not have worshipped them. They have no knowledge of that. They do nothing but conjecture.
Was it Al-Rahman's will for them to worship them?
S 43:33 And were it not that people would be one nation we would have made for those who disbelieve in Al-Rahman for their houses rooves of silver and stairs upon which to ascend
S 43:36 And he who turns away from Al-Rahman’s dhikr, we send him a devil and he is a qarin to him.
Seeing as the Bible was evidently also called the Dhikr, does Allah send a devil to Muslims?
S 43:45 And ask him we sent before you of our messengers, did we make instead of Al-Rahman gods to be worshipped?
Seeing as the messengers had passed away before the founder of Islam (S 3:144), are Muslims supposed to contact a dead man? And did the speaker(s) make Al-Rahman?
S 50:33 He who has feared Al-Rahman in the ghayb and has come with a remorseful heart.
S 55:1 Al-Rahman.
S 59:22 He is Allah, the one who--. There is no god but him. The knower of the ghayb and the testimony. He is Al-Rahman, the merciful.
S 67:3 The one who created seven skies in levels. You do not see any disparity in Al-Rahman’s creation. So return the eyesight. Do you see any cracks?
S 67:19 Have they not seen the bird above them spreading and folding? None holds them but Al-Rahman. He is a seer of everything.
Is Allah like a boy who runs around with a toy plane?
S 67:20 Who is this, the one, he is a troop for you to help you instead of Al-Rahman? The kafirun are in nothing but delusion.
S 67:29 Say: He is Al-Rahman. We have believed in him and in him we have put our trust. So you will know who it is in obvious error.
S 78:37 The lord of the skies and the Earth and what is between them, Al-Rahman, they do not possess from him to address.
S 78:38 A day the spirit and the angels stand in a row, they do not speak except him whom Al-Rahman has permitted for him and he said correctness.
