Islamic angels, we may assume from hadith, are physical beings. See: Angel of Death And physical creatures in general do eat. But in this post we shall be looking at angels as messengers.

S 35:1 Praise be to Lah, splitter of the skies and the Earth, maker of the angels as messengers. Possessors of wings, two and three and four. He increases in creation what he wills. Allah is mighty over everything.

Now, there was no commissary, messenger, we are told, who didn't visit the market.

S 25:20 And we did not send before you any of the commissaries but they would eat food and walk in the markets. And we have made some of you a fitnah for others. Will you be patient? And your lord was a seer.

If angels are messengers, then surely the angels that supposedly fought at the Battle of Badr must also have gone to the market. For what purpose? To get something to eat?

The messenger, or messengers, supposedly angels, who visited Ibrahim and the messenger, or messengers, who visited Lut, must have gone to the market.

As Jibril, supposedly a messenger, supposedly an angel, supposedly visited Allah's boss, he must have visited the market.

As ONLY human beings were sent to men, are these so-called angels men?

S 12:109 And we did not send before you but men. We inspire them from the people of the villages. So have you not travelled in the Earth and seen how the result of those before them was? And the home of the hereafter is best for those who have feared. So do you not comprehend?

S 16:43 And we did not send before you but men. We inspire them. So ask the people of the Dhikr if you do not know.
