Muslims will call Christians mushrikun (associators) but may draw a distinction between them and Jews. But do the following verses imply that they are?
S 2:135 And they said: Be Jews or Nasara, to be guided. Say: No, the cult of Ibrahim, a Hanif. And he was not of the mushrikun.
S 3:67 Ibrahim was not a Jew nor a Nasrani but a Hanif, a Muslim, and was not of the mushrikun.
S S 3:95 Say: Allah has told the truth so follow the cult of Ibrahim a Hanif. And he was not of the mushrikun.
S 6:161 Say: I, my lord has guided me to a straight path, a worthy religion, the cult of Ibrahim, a Hanif. And he was not of the mushrikun.
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs:
(Say) O Muhammad, to the people of Mecca, the Jews and to the Christians: (Lo! As for me, my Lord hath guided me unto a straight path) my Lord has honoured me with His religion and has commanded me to call people to His religion; it is also said that this means: my Lord has shown how to call people to His to (a right religion, the community of Abraham) the religion of Abraham, (the upright) who surrendered to Allah and (who was no idolater) he did not follow the idolaters in their religion. https://www.altafsir.com/Tafasir.asp?tMadhNo=0&tTafsirNo=73&tSoraNo=6&tAyahNo=161&tDisplay=yes&UserProfile=0&LanguageId=2
S 16:120 Ibrahim was a nation, obedient to Lah, a Hanif, and was not of the mushrikun.
S 16:123 Then we inspired you: Follow the cult of Ibrahim, a Hanif. And he was not of the mushrikun.
Is the author implying that the Jews are, unlike Ibrahim, mushrikun?
In S 9:30 the author goes on a rant and invokes Allah to fight the Jews, along with the Christians, the former supposedly worshipping some Uzayr as the son of Allah:
And the Jews said: Uzayr is the son of Allah and the Nasara said: The Messiah is the son of Allah. That is their speech with their mouths. They imitate the speech of those who disbelieved before. Allah fight them! How deluded they are!
