S 7:194 Those whom you invoke instead of Allah are slaves the like of you. So invoke them, let them respond to you, if you are truthful.
Are idols Allah's slaves?
S 17:57 Those whom they invoke seek the means to their lord, which of them is nearest and they hope for his mercy and fear his torture. Your lord’s torture was abhorrent.
S 21:98 You and what you worship instead of Allah are gravel of Jahannam. You are going down to it.
S 21:99 If these were gods they would not have gone down to it. And all abide therein indefinitely.
The people sent to hell are real but the objects of their worship which supposedly are are not? Then why might they be sent there? Regarding 'what you worship', see:
S 29:25 And he said: You have only taken idols instead of Allah out of affection among you in the dunya life. Then on the day of resurrection you renounce one another and curse one another and your abode is the fire and you have no helpers.
Would the idols be renouncing their worshippers?
There was an occasion when the founder of Islam ordered Khalid ibn al-Walid to kill Al-Uzza. Al-Uzza was one of the daughters of Allah.
An-Nasa'i recorded that Abu At-Tufayl said, "When the Messenger of Allah conquered Makkah, he sent Khalid bin Al-Walid to the area of Nakhlah where the idol of Al-`Uzza was erected on three trees of a forest. Khalid cut the three trees and approached the house built around it and destroyed it. When he went back to the Prophet and informed him of the story, the Prophet said to him,«ارْجِعْ فَإِنَّكَ لَمْ تَصْنَعْ شَيْئًا»(Go back and finish your mission, for you have not finished it.) Khalid went back and when the custodians who were also its servants of Al-`Uzza saw him, they started invoking by calling Al-`Uzza! When Khalid approached it, he found a naked woman whose hair was untidy and who was throwing sand on her head. Khalid killed her with the sword and went back to the Messenger of Allah, who said to him,«تِلْكَ الْعُزَّى»(That was Al-`Uzza!)'' https://quranx.com/Tafsir/Kathir/53.19
One further thought: Who makes idols?
S 37:95-96 He said: Do you worship what you carve When Allah has created you and what you do?
