S 3:37 So her lord accepted her well and she caused her to sprout well and we put her in the care of Zakariyya. Whenever Zakariyya entered the mihrab upon her he found provision with her. He said: Maryam, whence do you have this? She said: It is from Allah. Allah gives provision to whom he wills without account.

Maryam was supposedly lodged in the Temple; this verse reflects that idea. See: The Gospel of Pseudo-Matthew

S 3:39 Then the angels called him while he was standing, praying in the mihrab. Allah gives you good news of Yahya, confirming a word from Allah, and a chief and a continent man and a prophet among the righteous.

S 19:11 Then he went out to his people from the mihrab and indicated to them to praise in the morning and in the evening.

S 38:21  And has the news of the adversary come to you when they climbed the mihrab?
