In this post we shall be looking at passages that expressly speak of Muslims.
S 2:128 Our lord, and make us Muslims for you. And from our offspring a surrendering nation for you. And show us our rituals and repent for us. You are the repenter, the merciful.
S 2:132 And Ibrahim imposed it upon his sons, and Ya’qub: My sons, Allah has chosen the religion for you so do not die except when you are Muslims.
S 2:133 Or were you witnesses when death attended Ya’qub, when he said to his sons: What will you worship after me? They said: We shall worship your god and the god of your fathers, Ibrahim and Isma’il and Ishaq, one god. And we are Muslims to him.
S 2:136 Say: We have believed in Allah and what has been sent down to us and what was sent down to Ibrahim and Isma’il and Ishaq and Ya’qub and the tribes and what was given to Musa and Isa and what was given to the prophets from their lord. We do not distinguish between any of them. And we are Muslims to him.
S 3:52 Then when Isa perceived kufr among them he said: Who are my helpers to Allah? The Hawariyun said: We are Allah’s helpers. We have believed in Allah, and bear witness that we are Muslims.
S 3:64 Say: People of the Book, come to a sawa’ word between us and you that we do not worship but Allah nor associate with him at all nor take one another as lords instead of Allah. Then if they turn away say: Bear witness that we are Muslims.
S 3:67 Ibrahim was not a Jew nor a Nasrani but a Hanif, a Muslim, and was not of the mushrikun.
S 3:80 And he does not command you to take the angels and the prophets as lords. Would he command you to kufr after when you are Muslims?
S 3:84 Say: We have believed in Allah and what was sent down upon us and what was sent down upon Ibrahim and Isma’il and Ishaq and Ya’qub and the tribes and what was given to Musa and Isa and the prophets from their lord. We do not distinguish between any of them and we are Muslims to him.
S 3:102 Those who have believed, fear Allah. A right are precautions of him. And do not die except when you are Muslims.
S 5:111 And when I inspired the Hawariyun to believe in me and in my messenger they said: We have believed and bear witness that we are Muslims.
S 6:163 No partner has he. And with that have I been commanded and I am the first of the Muslims.
S 7:126 And you do not take revenge on us except that we believed in our lord’s signs when they came to us. Our lord, empty patience upon us and cause us to die as Muslims.
S 10:72 But if you turn away then I have not asked you for any wage. My wage is nothing but upon Allah and I have been commanded to be of the Muslims.
S 10:84 And Musa said: People, if you have believed in Allah then in him put your trust, if you are Muslims.
S 10:90 And we passed beyond the sea with the Banu Isra’il and Fir’awn and his troops followed them in rebellion and enmity until when the drowning came suddenly upon them, he said: I have believed that there is no god but the one whom the Banu Isra’il has believed in and I am of the Muslims.
S 11:14 Then if they do not respond to you then know that it has been sent down with Allah’s knowledge and that there is no god but him. So are you Muslims?
S 12:101 My lord, you have given me of the dominion and taught me of the interpretation of ahadith. The splitter of the skies and the Earth, you are my protector, in the dunya and the hereafter. Cause me to die a Muslim and attach me to the righteous.
S 15:2 Perhaps those who have disbelieved have desired they had been Muslims.
S 16:89 And a day we raise in every nation a witness over them from themselves. And we brought you as a witness over these. And we sent down upon you the book as clarification for everything and as guidance and mercy and good news for the Muslims.
S 16:102 Say: The Holy Spirit has brought it down from your lord in truth to make those who have believed firm and as guidance and good news for the Muslims.
S 21:108 Say: I am only inspired that your god is one god. So are you Muslims?
S 22:78 And wage jihad for Allah with his due jihad. He has selected you and has not put upon you in the religion any difficulty. The cult of your father Ibrahim. He named you Muslims before and in this, that the messenger may be a witness over you and you may be witnesses over people. So establish salat and give zakat and hang on to Allah. He is your mawla. So excellent was the mawla and excellent the helper.
S 27:31 Not to exalt against me and come to me as Muslims.
S 27:38 He said: Chiefs, which of you will bring me her throne before they come to me as Muslims?
S 27:42 So when she came it was said: Is your throne thus? She said: It is as though it were it. And we were given the knowledge before her and were Muslims.
S 27:81 And you do not guide the blind from their error. You do not make one hear except him who believes in our verses so they are Muslims.
S 27:91 I have only been commanded to worship the lord of this country, who has declared it sacred. And his is everything. And I have been commanded to be of the Muslims
S 28:53 And when it is read to them they said: We have believed in it. It is the truth from our lord. We were Muslims before it.
S 29:46 And do not argue with the People of the Book except in that which is best, except those who have wronged among them, and say: We have believed in that which has been sent down to us and sent down to you and our god and your God are one and we are Muslims to him.
S 30:53 And you cannot guide the blind man from their error. You do not make to hear but him who believes in our verses so they are Muslims.
S 33:35 The Muslims and the Muslimahs and the male believers and the female believers and the obedient men and the obedient women and the truthful men and the truthful women and the patient men and the patient women and the humble men and the humble women and the mutasadiqun and the mutasadiqat and the fasting men and the fasting women and the male keepers of their privates and the female keepers and the men who remember Allah much and the women who remember has Allah prepared for them forgiveness and a great wage.
S 39:12 And I have been commanded to be the first of the Muslims.
S 41:33 And who is better in speech than he who has called to Allah and has done a righteous deed and has said: I am of the Muslims?
S 43:69 Those who believed in our verses and were Muslims.
S 46:15 And we have advised man acting well towards his parents. His mother carried him in dislike and laid him in dislike. And his carrying and his weaning is 30 months until when he has reached his maturity and has reached 40 years he has said: Lord, grant me the power to thank for your grace which you have given me and my parents and to do a righteous deed that pleases him and reform for me in my offspring. I have repented to you and I am of the Muslims.
S 51:36 But we did not find therein other than a house of the Muslims.
S 66:5 Perhaps his lord if he divorced you would exchange for him husbands better than you, surrendering, believing, obedient, repentant, worshipping, fasting, matrons and virgins.
That translated "surrendering" might also be translated 'Muslimahs'.
S 68:35 So shall we make the Muslims like the criminals?
S 72:14 And that we, among us are the Muslims and among us are the qasitun. And those who have surrendered, then those have surveyed a right path.
