In this post we look at an incident involving a man worshipping at a mosque. He apparently gained a reputation for piety. The founder of Islam was not pleased and ordered a hit.

Translation: That Abu Bakr al-Siddiq came to the prophet, Allah pray for him and salute him, and said, 'Messenger of Allah, a man of good looks and appearance is praying' and the prophet, Allah pray for him and salute him, said to him, 'Go and kill him.' He said. So Abu Bakr went to him but when he saw him in that situation he disliked killing him and returned to the messenger of Allah, Allah pray for him and salute him, and the prophet, Allah pray for him and salute him, said to Umar, 'Go and kill him.' So Umar went and saw him in the situation that Abu Bakr had seen. He said. So he returned and said: Messenger of Allah, I saw him praying. Frightened, I disliked killing him. He said:, Ali, go and kill him. So Ali went but did not see him so Ali returned. And the messenger of Allah, Allah pray for him and salute him, said: I did not see him. He said. So the prophet, Allah pray for him and salute him, said: This man and his companions read the quran. It doesn't go beyond their collarbones. They pass by the religion as the arrow passes by the target then they do not return to it until the arrow returns to its top, so kill them. They are the worst of creatures.
