In this short post we shall be looking at characters in the Quran that have the Divine Name in their name.

Zakariya. Zecharia. This is the Hebrew Zekharyah, 'Jah Has Remembered' or 'Jah Remembers'.

Ilyasin. This is said to be actually a plural. Elijah. Hebrew Eliyah, 'My God is Jah'.

Yahya. John. The actual Arabic name is Yuhanna. Hebrew Yochanan, 'Jah's Grace'.

Isa, it has been argued, represents the Hebrew Yeshua', short form of Yehoshua', 'Jah Is Salvation'. I am inclined to think that the name Isa represents the name Yasa, Jesse. My post: https://philhoraia.wixsite.com/website/post/on-the-likely-significance-of-the-name-isa

The actual Arabic form of Jesus is Yasua'.

Jah is the short form of Yahweh. As in Hallelujah, 'Praise Jah'.

Not once does the Quran use the Divine Name, even though Allah is supposedly God. Allah is understood to be the name of the deity of the Quran.
