The Ka'bah

The Ka'bah was supposedly built for people to do pilgrimage to.

S 2:125 And when we made the House a resort for people and security. And take from the station of Ibrahim a musalla. And we covenanted to Ibrahim and Isma’il: Purify my house for the circumambulators and those devoted and those who bow, those doing sujud.

S 2:127 And when Ibrahim raises the foundations of the House, and Isma’il. Our lord, accept from us. You are the hearer, the learned.

S 2:158 Al-Safa and Al-Marwah are of the cult rituals of Allah. So he who has performed Hajj of the House or has performed Umrah, there is no misdemeanour upon him to circumambulate them. And he who has done good voluntarily then Allah is grateful, learned.

S 3:96 The first house placed for people is that in Bakkah, blessed and a guidance for the ‘alamin.

S 3:97 Therein are clear signs, the station of Ibrahim, and he who entered it was safe. And Lah’s, upon people is the pilgrimage of the house, he who was able a way to it. And he who has disbelieved, then Allah is rich from the ‘alamin.

S 5:2 Those who have believed, do not permit Allah’s rites nor the sacred month nor the hadinor the garlanded animals nor those coming to the Sacred House, seeking favour from their lord and pleasure. And when you have come out of Ihram then hunt. And let hatred for a people as they repelled you from the Sacred Mosque not incite you to transgress. And help one another in righteousness but do not help one another in sin and oppression. And fear Allah. Allah is severe in punishment.

S 5:95 Those who have believed, do not kill game while you are hurum. And he who has killed it among you intentionally, a penalty the like of what he has killed of cattle, two just men among you judging it as a hadi reaching the Ka’bah or an expiation--feeding needy people or an equivalent of that in fasting that he may taste an evil consequence of his deed. Allah has pardoned what has passed and he who has returned, Allah takes vengeance on him. And Allah is mighty, a possessor of vengeance.

S 5:97 Allah has made the Ka’bah, the Sacred House, an establishment for people, and the sacred month and the hadi and the garlands. That is that you may know that Allah knows what is in the skies and what is on the Earth and that Allah is learned in everything.

S 8:34 And what do they have that Allah should not torture them while they block from the Sacred Mosque and were not its protectors? Its protectors are nothing but the fearers but most of them do not know.

S 8:35 And their salat at the house was nothing but whistling and clapping. So taste the torture because you used to disbelieve.

S 14:37 Our lord. I have settled some of my offspring in a valley without plantation before your forbidden house, our lord, that they might perform the salat. So make the hearts of people lean towards them and provide them from the fruits; perhaps they will thank.

S 22:26 And when we nominated for Ibrahim the place of the house, Do not associate with me anything and purify my house for the circumambulators and the standers and the bowers and the sujud-doers.

S 22:27 And announce among people the Hajj; they come to you on foot and on every lean thing; they come from every deep gorge

S 22:29 Then let them complete their tafath and fulfill their vows and circumambulate the ancient house.

S 22:33 Yours therein are benefits for a designated term. Then their site is at the ancient house.

S 106:3 Let them worship the lord of this house,

If al-nas signifies mankind and if the Ka'bah was built for the 'alamin, the worlds, then what business do Muslims have saying that pilgrimage is optional? And if the Ka'bah was bult for the 'alamin, why are mushrikun and others forbidden from visiting?

Abu Huraira reported God’s messenger as saying, “An Abyssinian with short legs will destroy the Ka'ba.” Bukhari and Muslim.

Jabir reported that there was in pre-Islamic days a temple called Dhu'l- Khalasah and it was called the Yamanite Ka'ba or the northern Ka'ba. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said unto me:

Will you rid me of Dhu'l-Khalasah and so I went forth at the head of 350 horsemen of the tribe of Ahmas and we destroyed it and killed whomsoever we found there. Then we came back to him (to the Holy Prophet) and informed him and he blessed us and the tribe of Ahmas.

There were something like 26 ka'bahs in the Arabian Peninisula. Regarding Dhu'l-Khalasah we read:

Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "The Hour will not be established till the buttocks of the women of the tribe of Daus move while going round Dhi-al-Khalasa." Dhi-al-Khalasa was the idol of the Daus tribe which they used to worship in the Pre Islamic Period of ignorance.

But haven't we just read that Dhul Khalasah was destroyed? May we yet expect the buttocks of the women of the tribe of Daus to move while circumambulating their ka'bah?
