Not Like One Of the Women

S 33:32 Women of the prophet’s, you are not like one of the women. If you have feared then do not be submissive in speech so that the one in whose heart is disease desires, and say decent speech.

As so often in quran, the author uses the word 'women' in the sense of wives. There is a problem with the clause " you are not like one of the women." The Arabic has لَسْتُنَّ كَأَحَدٍ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ. The author uses the masculine أحد ahad. Now, he should have used the feminine إحدى ihda. The absurdity of the phrase may be brought out if we translate it into German. The clause as the author has it would be: 'Ihr seid nicht wie einer der Frauen', using the masculine einer for the feminine eine. Throughout quran, the author uses zawj 'husband' rather than what one might have expected, zawjah 'wife'. See: Wife or Husband? This clause may put the reader in mind of S 42:11 "The splitter of the skies and the Earth. He has made for you from yourselves husbands and from the cattle husbands; he multiplies you thereby. There is nothing like his likeness [sic] and he is the hearer, the seer." As 'there is nothing like his likeness', doesn't Allah have a likeness? And the wives of the founder of Islam were obviously like other women.
