In this post we shall be looking at the verses in which the word Egypt occurs.
S 2:61 And when you said: Musa, we shall not be patient with one food so invoke your lord for us to bring out for us of what the Earth grows, of its green plants and its cucumbers and its fum and its lentils and its onions. He said: Would you replace that which is lower with that which is better? Go down to Egypt. Then you will have what you have asked for. And humiliation and destitution were struck upon them and they returned with anger from Allah. That is because they used to disbelieve in the signs of Allah and kill the prophets without right. That is because they disobeyed and were transgressing.
Fum is probably garlic. Do the Israelites want to replace 'lower' food with better but Musa is opposed? Go down to Egypt? But the historical Moses had just led the Israelites out of Egypt.
S 10:87 And we inspired Musa and his brother: Settle your people in Egypt in houses and make your houses a qiblah and perform salat and give good news to the believers.
Allah wants the Israelites to settle in the country that they leave? These houses (whose?) would be a qiblah? For what site? The Ka'bah? So did Muslims, which the Israelites supposedly were, do sujud towards the Ka'bah, then towards the Temple in Jerusalem, then back towards the Ka'bah?
S 12:21 And the one who bought him from Egypt said to his woman: Honour his abode. Perhaps he will benefit us or we shall take him as a child. And thus we gave power to Yusuf in the land and that we might teach him of the interpretation of ahadith. And Allah is victor over his affair but most people do not know.
Was Yusuf bought in Egypt or by a guy from Egypt? Would Yusuf perhaps be adopted when he was around 17 years old?
S 12:99 And when they entered upon Yusuf he put his parents up and said: Enter Egypt, if Allah wills, secure.
The historical Joseph's mother had died and been buried years before he arrived in Egypt.
S 43:51 And Fir’awn called among his people. He said: People, is the dominion of Egypt not mine and these rivers running beneath me? So do you not see?
Fir'awn for the author was certainly not a title but a proper name.
