S 16:67 And from the fruits of the date palm and grapes you take therefrom an intoxicant and a good provision. In that there is a sign for people who comprehend.
In this 70th surah to be 'revealed', we may conclude that intoxicants of all kinds are something good. There's a 'sign' in them.
S 2:219 They ask you about wine and maysir. Say: In them is a big offence and benefits for people. And their offence is bigger than their benefit. And they ask you what they spend. Say: The pardon. Thus Allah clarifies the verses for you; perhaps you will ponder.
In this 87th to be 'revealed', we are told that there is an offence and benefits in wine and in this form of gambling.
S 4:43 Those who have believed, do not approach salat when you are intoxicated until you know what you are saying nor junub except passing a way until you have washed. And if you are ill or on a journey or one of you has come from faeces or has touched women and have not found water then do tayammum with good highland, then wipe your faces and your hands. Allah was pardoning, a forgiver.
In this 92nd to be 'revealed', Muslims are told not to turn up for salat drunk 'until they know what they're saying'. They have to know what they're saying. How come that modern, non-Arabic speaking, Muslims needn't know what they're saying during salat?
S 5:90 Those who have believed, wine and maysir and ansab and divining arrows are only rijs from the Devil’s work, so avoid it; perhaps you will succeed.
In this 112th to be 'revealed', Muslims are told to avoid wine, this form of gambling, idol altars and divining arrows, none of which are declared haram.
