The title of this post is from a song by Madness and looks at references to the 'House of Allah'. 'House' was an ancient Semitic term signifying a temple.
S 2:158 Al-Safa and Al-Marwah are of the cult rituals of Allah. So he who has performed Hajj of the House or has performed Umrah, there is no misdemeanour upon him to circumambulate them. And he who has done good voluntarily then Allah is grateful, learned.
S 3:97 Therein are clear signs, the Station of Ibrahim, and he who entered it was safe. And Lah’s, upon people is the pilgrimage of the House, he who was able a way to it. And he who has disbelieved, then Allah is rich from the ‘alamin.
Regarding 'the station of Ibrahim: Hadith - Book of Prayers (Salat) - Sahih al-Bukhari - Allah is 'rich' yet wants a loan? Buddy, Can You Spare a Dime?
S 5:2 Those who have believed, do not permit Allah’s rites nor the sacred month nor the hadin or the garlanded animals nor those coming to the Sacred House, seeking favour from their lord and pleasure. And when you have come out of Ihram then hunt. And let hatred for a people as they repelled you from the Sacred Mosque not incite you to transgress. And help one another in righteousness but do not help one another in sin and oppression. And fear Allah. Allah is severe in punishment.
S 5:97 Allah has made the Ka’bah, the Sacred House, an establishment for people, and the sacred month and the hadi and the garlands. That is that you may know that Allah knows what is in the skies and what is on the Earth and that Allah is learned in everything.
S 11:73 They said: Do you wonder at Allah’s command? Allah’s mercy and his blessings be upon you, household. He is praiseworthy, glorious.
S 33:33 And stay in your houses and do not dress up as the dressing up of the first jahiliyyah. And perform salat and give the zakat and obey Allah and his messenger. Allah only wants to remove rijs from you, household, and to purify you with purification.
The first jahiliyyah? Regarding rijs: Allah the Filthy Monkey
